Creepily organic flesh tones on the canvas and sails!

Otherwise, very good. :D Just hold it over a soot-belching cooling tower for an hour or two to dirty it up and you'll be there!

Dynamithix 03-25-2011 08:30 AM

I think it looks very cool!

MeechMunchie 03-25-2011 08:49 AM

Very nice. Any plans for others?

Ridg3 03-25-2011 02:58 PM

Mmm, here's another that has peaked my interest in FC making it a grand total of three, although, I think one of them is going down the "deserted" route.

EDIT: How rude of me not to praise your work. I fucking like it :D

AvengingGibbons 03-25-2011 03:48 PM

Lloyd that's amazing work! Good job :)

lloyd 03-25-2011 04:08 PM

@Splat a thank you!

@Dynamithix :)

@MeechMunchie Well I was eyeing up the concept art minecart on page 105. its really nice but that's only a dream for now :) still need to do the lowpoly of the blimp

@Ridg3 FC? fan corner? whos going down what deserted route?

@AvengingGibbons :) Thanks!

Nowtuns project, but it might have something to do with him having a family and all that nonsense. I hope you don't have any commitments so you can stay here and entertain us like the court jester you are. Just kidding. Maybe.

Wil 03-26-2011 05:34 AM

Lloyd, brilliant, brilliant work. :D I approve massively.

enchilado 03-26-2011 03:07 PM

Well I approve even more massively. The lack of textural detail does make it seem as though this is a small-scale model, or a toy, but it's still really good.

OddYouko 03-26-2011 09:33 PM

And here I thought you were just spamming or something. Shame on me.

Excellent work! Ya have some skills, lloyd. Rep+ for you. ;)
I'll certainly be checking in here more often from now on. Awesome job on the model.

Paul 03-28-2011 11:28 AM

Nice work ;D If only someone could make an AE train... ;)

Trust me Nowtun is still working on his project, he even got some code from an ehem, unknown coder. Ehem.

I agree with Paul, a feeco train would be the cats balls!

http://frenchcinema4d.fr/showthread....ts-FeeCo-Depot

If you look at all the image links, you'll see many different models that have been made, including a few rendered images of the feeco train! Not my work, just something I've found whilst searching before :)

EDIT: Found the train one. Here it is for easy-viewing's sake :

hey fantastic work Lloyd, any plans for this?

@Ridg3 - Ive just gone off the radar for a bit, been busy with family and all that (was my son's first birthday last thursday) and ive decided to actualy finish a scene before showing it off as i have a really bad habbit of re-arranging the levels and/or improving the models, so what i show tends to not be the final product but im putting an end to that and finishing things first so i cant go back to it. the next time i show off anything will be when the location im working on is totaly finised. in a nutshell, im still working on it, everyday, ive even started keeping notes so that i ca keep track of progress.

@AvengingGibbons nice scene, but im thinking maybe theres a bit too much polys there? or is there already a bump map in place?

again, excellent work lloyd

lloyd 06-17-2011 07:22 AM

Hey guys, So good news and bad news.

The good is I've been working on the blimp.

the lowpoly is made, the normal maps and AO maps are bakes and I've been working on the texture. heres how its looking now

http://wireframebox.com/linkto/skinskinskin_17-6-11.jpg

I've been trying to make the fabric skin like. leathery!

also I've been adding leaking rust along the sides.

right now its 3 maps
1 x fabric
1 x body [panelling]
1 x everything else

So I'll keep working on the texture.

The bad news is I did an art test for just add water but unfortunately I'm not good enough, and by the looks of it they just hired 2 art people :(

oh well, still no job for me then.

olah!

Skibur 06-17-2011 08:05 AM

Ahh yes, I saw this on the Polycount forums.

Man, where was this thread? I'm kind of happy and sad that I never saw it. I probably wouldn't have made my Fee Co. train if I'd seen that it had been done before, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out, so that's cool.

Lloyd, we should totally keep making Oddworld inspired stuff ;)

T-nex 06-17-2011 01:04 PM

Wow I've only seen this thread now, But you're very good :) This is quite amazing.

Sekto Springs 06-17-2011 10:43 PM

Amazing work! :)
I can't wait to see it in action!

lloyd 06-20-2011 10:00 AM

http://wireframebox.com/linkto/skinskinskin_20-6-11.jpg

more like skin now, needs some colour variation across the middle sections reds/purples!

Oddey 06-22-2011 11:11 AM

Amazing work. Even without the color variation.

Havoc 06-22-2011 02:30 PM

Man I need to go to Fancorner more often. This is insane. Why are you not working for JAW yet. They're hiring, you know.

Unfortunately. This is pretty damn good.

Havoc 06-22-2011 02:46 PM

If they consider this not good enough, I wonder what the people they did hire can produce.

lloyd 07-05-2011 03:41 PM

I've had some other work come up but i am still adding grime to this!

as for job,

we'll I'm a 'junior' and they wanted somebody with more experience / speed.

times money yeah? not their fault. i need to work quicker!
