Thank you for the welcomes, everyone! :fuzzle:
I dissappeared already :p Nah, right after posting here again I went on a two-week vacation in Thailand with my boyfriend. While I was there, all hell broke loose in Japan, so instead of flying back to Tokyo I went home to Finland for two weeks, but since the news didn't show anything too alarming and spring semester was starting, I did eventually fly back to Japan. So, it's been a more or less chaotic month, but now I plan to stay. Of course I remember you, Eddie! Just haven't been talking to anyone on MSN for ages and ages. Really miss that. Send my love to Claudia, too! I hope both of you are doing fine. And I'm fine, too, thank you. The daily earth quakes are getting tiring already, although I actually think they're quite cool :fuzcool: As long as they stay small, like 3-4.. It's a funny feeling when your bed starts shaking for a few minutes in the middle of the night or you're just taking a shower when the room starts to sway like you're in a boat. Other than that, my new Japanese class seems nice, even if pretty hard, and the sakura is so pretty <3 I hope I'll get to stay here for the whole semester ie. nothing drastic happens. And thank you, Justin. That was charming. |
Welcome Back.
I wasn't here in 2001 but everyone knows me as crashpunk/wariopunk or that annyoing kid. |
Welcome back indeed - I'm touched that you still remember. :)
I had forgotten that you said you were studying in Tokyo, it was lucky you weren't there when the earthquake happened. You say they're still getting aftershocks all this time later? That must be odd - It's brave of you to go back there, I hope everything goes okay for you in that regard. How well is Japan recovering from your perspective? I haven't really been on MSN in... Hmm. 3 years or so - I've lost contact with much of the old crew, I miss those old times even though they were very strange, but we all move on and that. :) |
Aye, we do move on but it always saddens me to think of all the great people I've lost contact with. I was also absent from MSN for over a year and just recently got back. I think it wasn't as long as 3 years ago when we last talked, though.. But time kind of seems to go faster the older you get :p
Apparently it's normal for after shocks to occur 2-3 months after a big earth quake and our teachers keep assuring us we're safe and another big one will not come, since the plates have already settled. There have been a few rather big ones, though.. Just last night and two days ago, both over 7. Not here tough, but roughly around the same area, where the original big one occurred. There were tsunami warnings, too, but no new waves. Here they were about 3s. Luckily, I'm pretty far away from the epicentre. Last night there were multiple minor earth quakes and in the morning and during my second class a bit bigger ones.th I even get a warning on my cellphone like a minute or two before they begin, so I'm just sitting there waiting for it to happen. After my arrival a bit over a week ago there wasn't any activity, but now it's constant and getting kind of annoying. I just hope there will be no more nightly quakes to wake us up. And if it continues like this I might get worried, but the Japanese people aren't and they're going about their daily lives as usual by now. Most of the train lines are running already, even if there are fewer trains, but at least moving around isn't a real pain anymore and people can get to work, etc. They are trying to save electricity everywhere they can, so in addition to the fewer trains, there are no lights inside the running ones at daytime and most billboards are turned off, which makes the streets look kind of spooky and different in big cities like Tokyo and Yokohama. But at least there are people around unlike right after the quake. The stores are now looking normal, too. At first they were completely out of bottled water, all canned foods, bread and milk. Now there are just a few empty shelves, but you can basically find everything you need. Like I said, our spring semester stated normally, so I had to return if I wanted to do the whole year here as planned. If I were to return home, I think I wouldn't get a chance to come back via my Uni again, because there are so many applicants every year. And I really want to get back to my boyfriend, dogs, family and friends soon and for good without having to come back here a second time in the future. 4 more months left! I really love it here, though, and am gonna miss my new friends terribly when we all go back to our countries (or some stay here), but at the same time I can't wait to get back to my loved ones in Finland. My mum and my boyfriend's family (and he too, but for different reasons) wanted me home for good, because they're scared for my safety, but I'm not really. Not as things are now. There were many exchange students who returned home and are not coming back, though. But yeah, the Japanese people seem optimistic and so am I so far ^^ Let's see with all these earth quakes.. Sorry for the novel. (Oh and I play on EU - Ravencrest (Horde) and Darkspear (Alliance). Detest the Alliance, though.. My boyfriend made me play the quests while they were still there before Cata, so now I have an 80 human pala tank and, now that I spent the two weeks in Finland, a worgen because, well, worgen <3) |
Go buy me some ero-doujins.

I forgot I wrote that. |
I remember you! And the cow avatar!
It's been ages. Alcar... |
An animated avatar! Ban her!
It was uploaded about a decade before the rule was introduced, I think we'll survive.
Allright, everybody. Let's all go back in time by ten years with whatever GIF avatars we want saved on a USB stick. That's how we can have them today.
I'm I allowed a Animated dancing Pig as my avatar, does it have to be a farm animal?
Yeah, you're allowed a Animated dancing Pig.
I didn't even notice that her avatar was animated. That seems to be a pretty good justification for letting her keep it.
I don't want her to loose her animated GIF, I want one myself!
Tethered swimming.
I just feel like topping that.... but.... I can't. I just can't.
I can't believe I missed this for so long, familiar faces are fantastic fun. WB :)
I've developed an absolute fascination with Finland over the past year or so... the electronic music output from that neck of the woods is fucking awesome in it's goofy-but-expertly-crafted composition, and it's one of my optimistic goals to someday make it out to one of the local forest parties. [/end boring storytelling] |
Finland is awesome. We should have a thread for it. Really!
No it's not, there's snow and shit. Not cool.

Oh, forget it. |

^ Look at his face. He disapproves. ^
That's a lady.
Your self-portrait is a lady?
He posted an image that didn't work. You should always take the precaution of quoting blank posts before replying.
Really, it didn't work? That sucks. It works on my end.
Doesnt work here either.
Edit: You know what? This is the weirdest thing ever. I went into your post, and pasted the url into my browser, and saw the gif you wanted to post... and when I went back here, it worked! Then I refreshed and now its not showing up again :S I'm confused. But uh... Nice chick! |
Hi. I'm back. Retirement was too dull, boring, and involved WAY too much guitar playing.
