Steam is a huge juggernaut of a platform, JAW just botched the release of Oddboxx, arguably the point which makes or breaks a game. It's good that they have improved it, but they need another promotion (possibly when the HD patch releases) which will draw more positive attention this time and thus more sales.

Well, OI just responded to my question about Squeek's race, and apparently they won't say anything about it! :(

I feel SURE that Squeek must me one of the Ratz! Ratz go Squeek, you see, it makes perfect sense. On the other hand, the name Munch implies something with big teeth that can "Munch" things, and yet Munch is actually a froglike creature. So, to summarize: this post was almost entirely pointless ;)

Yeah, but he can't actually USE them, like to attack enemies. I think Squeek is going to end up being some giant fucking creature, and it will be funny, for you see, the name Squeek would not fit such a massive SOB.

Isn't he supposed to be low on the food chain? And isn't he also supposed to involve parasitism. Me and my brother were discussing this and we reckon if it's not a rat(z) its probably some sort of slurg?

I just can't imagine how that would make a fun game. All that Ratz do is go, see or hear something, and come back to Raisin.

I think you could be right. Plus i remember hearing somewhere (maybe oddworld wiki or something) that Squeek was supposed to have some kind of organism attached to him and that it was possibly like sekto (the squid head thing from strangers wrath) and they only attch themselves to big creatures... so yeah ... maybe squeek is huge.

You idiot. All the clues are clear and present in the games: Abe was named after Abraham Robertson, eighteenth/nineteenth century Scottish mathematician and astronomer. Abe will clearly go on to become widely respected for his work on conic sections.

I think it's pointless to try and guess the identity of Squeek, given that he's more than likely going to be a species we've never seen before. And the antagonists of his story will also probably be a newly designed species.

Well, you can't really assume they'd be anything other than glukkons, they've been the main antagonists for the last 2 quintology games.

Except for, you know, the Vykkers.

And we almost know that the Glukkons aren't the top of the industrial chain (at the very least there will be far more powerful Glukkons).

Vykkers were there, but Glukkons were another main antagonist. The only reason they wanted Munch's lungs were because of the Queen.

Depends how you look at it. Munch's main goal was not just to stay alive, but to get the gabbiar back from the Vykkers. Similarly, Abe wanted to free the egg crates stored in Vykkers' Labs. Taking that in to account, the Glukkons were merely a means to an end; that being raising enough money to gain access to the Gabbiar auction.

From 'tagonists to tools.

The next antagonists will probably be some other octopus looking guys.

I think its good were trying to guess what Squeek is. Speculation is most of the fun ... especially when there isnt actually any new stuff for like 6 years -_-

Plus I think the main antagonist will more than likely be Glukkons. I doubt after all these years Oddworld are gonna just forget about one of thier main species.

This probably marks a decade of people on the Oddworld Forums speculating that Squeek could be a Slurg, Rat or ironically large creature.

Glukkons will definitely play a role, but as the story progresses we're going to see that Glukkons play only a small part in Oddworld's civilized society. Bigger players and more powerful species will be revealed.

I'd like to see luskans, kinto's and the sort...but only in 3D, I think glukkons will be hovering throughout all Oddworld games...but as Max said, there has to be something that rivals the Cartel...otherwise there wouldn't be any stock market contenders and what would be the point in business then.

Glukkons are just a small part of the Magog Cartel.

What point would there be in denying the name of a character that may have a game made around him at some point?

Other than pointing out that no game will ever be made around him at any point, because Nod isn't the character's name?
