umm...pretty much every box is made in photoshop? Or a similar program such as Indesign. Photoshop is, in fact, industry standard software for graphic and package designers. So saying that something "looks made in photoshop" is the same as snidely saying "That car looks like it was made at a GM factory". The animosity people on this forum always show towards this statue is amazing. The company that made it didn't know they didn't have proper authorization. GT Interactive, Publisher of Oddworld, commissioned the statue without proper licensing authority from OWI. Muckle Mannequins had no reason to question the game's Publisher's IP Ownership. When OWI told MM to stop making the statue, it wasn't in a "how dare you" manner. It was a "sorry for the confusion" situation. The packaging gives full copyright and trademark credit to OWI and GT, respectively. Sherry McKenna even had one of these exact statues on her desk at OWI. They made a legit product, but GT turned out to not hold the legal right to commission such products, so they had to stop making it. People on this forum make it seem like some evil bastard with a pencil thin mustache sat in a dark room, sculpted a statue, and said "I will make my fortunes by exploiting an unsuspecting American company's widely unknown video game character. Muahaha!". If you guys want to rally against people exploiting Oddworld, then hop on eBay and start berating the people who make/sell those mugs, posters, and mousepads. THAT is the kind of IP infringement you should be mad about.

Well this is bad news,
"No I do not have any of that stuff anymore. Best Regards, Ken" Damn! Times like these made me think why do OWI don't allow people to make Products for them? Here's the link to the website: http://blogzilly.blogspot.com/2009/1...d-oddysee.html |
