Bullshit. He didn't even get in to that one school.

Better than you'd expect.

That's one beautiful Forbidden sign. We had him all wrong.

Sonofabtich, it worked fine for me.

Here's where I got it from.

MeechMunchie 11-04-2010 12:06 PM

Hitler was TIME's Man of the Year 1938. While other countries didn't like him or his views, they could see he was successfully rebuilding Der Farterland. So yeah, he was determined to create a strong country before he led it into global domination. He had next to no morals in his execution of this, but some of it worked.

His solution for high unemployment figures didn't - 'Stop counting nearly everyone who's unemployed, and conscript the rest into the army.'

ziggy 11-04-2010 12:11 PM

How about this

http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/a...painting-1.jpg

Is this the Hitler you see in the history books?

OANST 11-04-2010 12:17 PM

I still don't understand. Why is this interesting? What are we trying to say? That he did more than murder and oppress? That he was a living human being? Okay. Whatever. Not everything he did was monstrous. Great. I dare say, though, that being in charge of a movement that murdered billions of people will probably overshadow his accomplishments of smiling at children, and building roads.

ziggy 11-04-2010 12:23 PM

Ya it doesn't really matter. This thread is pretty pointless. I was just making a little 'Hitler is SO misunderstood' joke for amusement. SO fucking lighten up.

MeechMunchie 11-04-2010 12:29 PM

And to be honest, that smiling-at-children thing was just to gain favour with the public. He was a horrible man, make no mistake.

Manco 11-04-2010 01:35 PM

That's just what the victors want you to think, man.

STM 11-04-2010 01:41 PM

Yeh that one school...

To be fair he had good ideas for bad reasons, autobahn, yes. Transport tanks to Russia and Poland in days...no.

Volkgemeinschaft and Volkswagon, the peoples project and the peoples car yes. Future meat for the grinder and tank parts to use on the autobahn...no.

scrabface 11-04-2010 01:44 PM

wow this girl had some enormously big hands.

@ MeechMunchie

I think you mean Das Vaterland

I can tell you that none of the Germans and Austrians today feel in any kind a way responsible for what happened at WWII. there is no I am sorry I am sorry shit.

Bullet Magnet 11-04-2010 02:56 PM

So there shouldn't be. I just wish the peeps in the former allied countries would similarly move on.

Perhaps, but every German person I've ever met has gone out of their way to prove how nice s/he is and how much they love meeting and getting to know Jews. So whilst they aren't explicitly apologetic, they're definately feeling some residual guilt at one level or another.

Strike Witch 11-04-2010 06:09 PM

People sometimes forgive and forget, sometimes they do not. Most Japanese really like Americans, but they're still batshit terrified of China. Though that might have something to do with China's constant threatening of their territory.

Likewise, over here on the Australian coast, we're all cool with Germans and stuff, but there's still an undercurrent of dislike towards Japan because of their proximity during WW2, and China because of Communism/ mining companies.

Yeah, and fuck the French for pussing-out before Iraq.

yeah well that's what I meant perhaps with government. our schoolsystem declared the Holocaust as one of the main topics in history. I had to learn one fucking year about the WWII. Which led to a "come on lets get it over with" mood. and that attitude is in some kinda way wrong, not morally I mean, but historically genocide is a big thing. but holocaust is the main topic in preschool and in gymnasium (only in history class of course)
so maybe these german Schmucks tried to shine, but what I can tell you is, the first time I went to the US, I was many times confronted with this topic and it always was a bolt from the blue. the history teacher showed us Vaterland with rutger hauer which was odd and one day before I left, my host mother and her son questioned me in the kitchen about the holocaust - while I was trying to eat macaroni with cheese. no one should try to explain the holocaust while eating macaroni with cheese.
and it is impossible to criticize Israel, because first contra is that's antisemitic. so any this or real antisemitic comments gets punished very strong and in public by the government. there was this drunk tram driver in vienna who said heil hitler into the speaker and everyone was so embarrassed so this guy lost his job and charges were pressed against him. well he obviously is a maniac and it's his own fault, but it is a little bit odd that if you say two words you get punished for the rest of your life? it's like harry potter the you know who. oh and he was tipsy, not really drunk because it was the last time this tram would ever drive again, so this was an organized party tram lol, with champaign n stuff
did I tell you how much I love jews? I love 'em all

enchilado 11-05-2010 06:26 AM

Hey guys Hitler WAS A HUMAN BEING AS WELL

... as being a fucktard

Manco 11-05-2010 07:10 AM

Hitler wasn't a human being, he was a politician.

Jacob 11-05-2010 07:32 AM

"I'm waiting for Jacob to eventually come out with "but is everything written about the Holocaust really true?""

Funnily enough, i wasn't going to mention the Holocaust.

But since YOU mentioned it - Hey! Hey, guys! So...that Lolocaust thing...think it's true? Eh? Guys? ...do ya? Think it's true? Jews? Guys? True?

Nah, i was just bored so i thought i'd make a thread to gauge everybody's general reactions to that statement.

TBF, i don't think Hitler was that bad.

He may've gone a little OTT with his "solutions", but other than that some good ideas were thrown all over the place that should really be picked up again.

Oy-vey!

Ridg3 11-05-2010 07:36 AM

And there's me thinking you were a Nazi sympathizer, pity, we could have gotten along so well.

Jacob 11-05-2010 07:42 AM

Haha.

Nah, i'm generally against the whole purity argument on the basis that it weakens a race and makes a child's heritage less interesting.

I am fairly Right Wing, though, but it just irks me that there're no Right Wing parties that're intelligent enough to help society as a whole.

Such as? I mean, if you're going to make a statement like this, you should probably be a bit more specific. Was it his idea to have punch at the party gathering? Do you like his ideas on health care? What?

Also, claiming that you liked some of his ideas, and then qualifying that statement with saying that you're pretty "right wing" doesn't make much sense. Mainly, because the only "right wing" thing about Hitler, and the Nazi party was their treatment of minorities, and insistence on suppressing dissidents. Socialism is about as left as you can get.

I wonder what that says about Right Wing supporters.

Jacob 11-05-2010 08:00 AM

"Such as? I mean, if you're going to make a statement like this, you should probably be a bit more specific."

I thought it was clear from the use of the word 'solutions'.

Yeh, the general idea to Gas Jews, Gays, Blacks...etc...etc...so on and so forth was fairly 'out there'.

In regards to the RW comment, his general ideas on work camps, experimentation on humans and 'aggressive expansion'.

OANST 11-05-2010 08:04 AM

There are some options here.

1. You didn't understand what I was asking.

2. I don't understand your answer.

3. You're joking.

4. You're a vile and disgusting person.

I have no idea which of these is correct.

STM 11-05-2010 08:38 AM

I agree with Oanst but I'm taking it further.

From what I can tell you seem to be sympathetic towards Hitler and you seem to believe that what he did to people was 'out there' but can be overlooked. What is out there btw?
And before you answer, open up a word document and contemplate what your going to say since not a single post of yours has made sense in my brain.

If they were, they wouldn't be right wing any more.
