Argh, such a tough choice. I'd get Limbo, but I'd also highly recommend Super Meat Boy, as that shit is sooo addictive. I haven't played the other two, but they seem pretty good. Especially Costume Quest, considering it's from the genius mind of Tim Schafer and the other dudes at DoubleFine.

I have tried both, Costume Quest and Limbo and they both are very good, but I'll probably get Costume Quest. The demo was sooooo fun, I want it bad! Limbo is very good too, but I want something nice and happy, so I'm going for CQ for now. I really need to get my hands on Limbo too though.

Super Meat Boy is fucking incredible. I beat the game yesterday, but of course that means that I've only accomplished about 40% of it so far. Some of the levels are so mind-bogglingly difficult that they don't even frustrate me. I have to actually believe that I can beat a level for it to frustrate me.
For instance, the three levels that you need to beat to unlock the character from I Want To Be The Guy are hands down the hardest levels that I have ever experienced in any video game ever. Ever. N+ expert levels are like a gentle breeze on a warm spring day compared to the ferocity of this shit. I worked on the first level (which is one single screen) for three solid hours. After three hours, I finally beat it. I was overwhelmingly ecstatic until I realized that it was but the first of three levels that increase in difficulty with each one, and that you have to beat them all in one sitting, or start over again. After an hour of working on the second level, I called it quits. I will be going back to it, though. |
I really like games with challenge, but that sounds so brutal. I'm still kinda considering if I should buy Super Meat Boy or not.
|
Here's a video of the I Wanna Be The Guy levels. I'm glad to see that the third level is really easy. I don't feel so afraid to try to do this again now. Of course, this guy makes the whole thing look easy, but trust me. It isn't.

I need this game. I can't stop playing the demo.
|
I really fucking wish I had not bought this game. Nothing to do with addictiveness, but even with perfectly acceptable system requirements and the lowest resolution, it plays like laggy crap. And the jump button doesn't work about 3/4 of the time and Meat Retard keeps falling through solid walls.
I blamed myself for pre-ordering before the demo became available, but even now after launch there isn't a demo. What a goddamn fail. |
Is it your PC's fault, or is that version just poorly made?
|
The lagginess probably is my computer's fault, but like I say, it meats (lol) all the published system requirements. The jumping issue is hopefully related to that. As for falling through solid walls, that can't be anything but bad coding.
|
Is the wuaultc.exe playing up? Mine does every day and makes my computer unusable.
|
That's really strange. The 360 version is flawless. I'm sorry to hear that you guys got hosed, but they will probably be patching any problems.
|
Okay i've played it and F-in' hell its difficult! But its an awesome platformer
I'm sure i'm not the only one who gets reminded of I Wanna Be The Guy when playing? |
Pirated, beat it entirely in one sitting.
|
Someone is telling fibs.

:
Also the game is more than easy, even with a keyboard, but it's just addicting and fun (that is if you beat peoples terrible speedrun scores and use game breaking characters like Steve aka Mr. Minecraft). Can't wait for a level editor. |
Yeah. The 360 version didn't get any game breakers. The closest we came was The Kid, and you had to go through hell to get him.
|
I'm satisfied with super meat boy for kongregate 4 now
|
You're satisfied with Meat Boy. Good for you.

Damn Quietus. This came up as rank 66 though. |
Not that difficult of a level, really.
Good run, though. |
Oh my god I just unlocked Naija, she is immensely fast, well worth 50 bandages.

Well, I'm swayed. I'll keep waiting for a demo, but if there isn't one by next year I'll buy it anyway. |
