He hasn't got a good reason though, people who hate whole franchises in italics very rarely do.
|
Unless they strongly hate with a good reason.
|
I have never seen someone justifably hate the whole Final Fantasy series.
It's like hating Avatar, people only do it because they're out to prove something. |
I've my reasons I've played FF7 and I hated the characters, the story, the 'walk a step and theirs a enemy' gameplay and i'm not a massive fan of RPGs anyway (Apart from Pokemon).
|
Okay, you dislike FF7.
Therefore you hate the FF series as a whole. Right. Haters gonna hate. |
I hate Disney films. How does that make you feel?
|
You have a reason though. You hate the company, and the company ethic in writing stories.
I think you're fuckheaded for not appreciating Beauty and the Beast, but that's your problem. |
Beauty and the Beast is possibly the one I hate the most. No. That's probably Mulin, which was the last Disney film I ever saw. Beauty and the Beast comes next, though.
You posted a collage of scenes from Alice in Wonderland a long time ago with some trippy music that I just absolutely loved, though. I wish I could remember where you put that. |

Actually, no.

FF8's story was alot like FF7's if you pay attention...

All JRPGS = crap, with the exception of Mario RPGs

Well, since I don't seem to think so, it isn't.

Hero joins group in order to try to stop domestic evil. Later he meets heroine and falls in love with her. Later he discovers that the domestic evil isn't the evil overlord, and the evil overlord has a connection to either the hero or his love interest. Hero gains band of followers, gives chase to evil overlord to stop generic doomsday play and chases evil overlord to their lair to have a final battle.
Is that really the best you can do, really? |
No, that's basically the layout of most FFs, including the odd deus ex machina. I'm not hating, mind you, I'm just pointing out that one plot could be successful, they'd use elements for it in another one of their games.
|
That's far trancended any plot or cliche, that's a pretty solid story structure there.
And the worth of any story is in the details. |
Final Fantasy XIII was alright but I couldn't get over how linear it felt. Don't get me wrong, there is alot to do around areas but I just liked the freedom of the older ones. I didn't really like the "free roam" area much but I did everything there.
After completing the game fully, I didn't see any point of replaying through it, which to me is unlike any other Final Fantasy game really. Basically it's an okay game, I just can't see why I would want to replay it (except maybe changing roles drastically but it does force you alot of the time to use set ones). or maybe i have final fantasy 10 syndrome |
I was too pissed that after 90 hours of running down a hallway, I still wasn't powerful enough to beat the final boss. I will never pick it back. I will never beat it. It can suck my dick.

Most emotional video game scene ever, fuck you haters. |

|
I suppose X was like VII and VIII? Y'know, the whole airship, evil guy, eviler guy, chase them down, kill them, game over?
|
They all had a guy called Cid!
