Well, I'm guessing that Elum is the name of one of those Camel-like things and there are a whole species of them. So, there is only one Elum but there are heaps of Elum's brothers and sisters. The native mudokons used to ride them for hunting and such.

I don't think that all Elums are related to Abe's Elum.
