You've been watching far too many B movies if you think there are whole subclasses of society that are just waiting for the chance to eat someone. Think about how many cannibals have actually committed crimes in the last century. I can think of two, maybe three cases in all that time in the whole world.

If someone is attracted to the idea of eating someone but not killing them, then they're not going to kill anyone. If someone is attracted to the idea of eating someone and killing them, they're going to kill anyway because it gets them off. Either way, it's a moot point because the number of cannibal-attracted people in the world is incredibly low and the number who will compulsively act on those desires is much, much lower.

I have no problem with this. If the people who are having their organs eaten are consenting and the cannibals don't start killing people, let them do what they want.

I was under the impression that it was a little more common than one or two people per century in other places in the world, but I never said it was some kind of leading cause of death or anything. I also said that I know it's not going to really change anything, but if it winds up saving at least one life than it was worth it. That was the defense I decided on and ran with it.

I figured as much. But it still brings up the interesting point of something like that actually happening.

It doesn't, though. That's because it wouldn't happen. It's not a feasible business model. For a restaurant to stay open you need a constant supply of food. So, even if there is some sort of cannibalistic cabal within the surrounding area of the place, the stock would still be exhausted within a week's time.

Plus, who would fund such a business? Who would rent the space to them? No. It's not interesting. It's a two second then move on laugh.

Eh. I find out-there ideas interesting. The fact that it will likely never happen is part of what makes it fun to talk about as if it is likely to happen. Because how else can a conversation about the merits of a cannibal restaurant happen?
