Well, I quite like Stranger4002's reasonably legit pattern. Although I would like a third and final AO/AEesque game, I'd quite like that to be the next 'bonus' one, after something like Squeek's Oddysee.

Because really, we can't leave Sam to rot.

SW isn't a bonus game. It is its own stand-alone game that is seperate to the Quintology.

If you take in to account that OWI's next game (if they hadn't shut down the studios) would have been Fangus, Stranger4002's theory is even less likely.

Man I wish they would restart Fangus, this time in Lorne's original vision of being in Oddworld.

No information was ever released concerning Squeek's Oddysee, so no.

I always found that to be absolutely useless information. Squeek was low on the foodchain.. at least it reeks of Quintology material..

Fangus looked awesome. I really want to play that game but hey, that's how thing are going.

My theory was always that Squeek was to be one of the Ratz. Makes sense to me- Ratz go Squeek :P. Not many people agreed with me, though :(. Seems like a perfect addition to the quintology though- low on the food chain, small, weak, the underdog, etc.

I think that if they do make another Oddworld game (which is pretty likely) it will feature Abe, mostly just to please the fans. If there isn't Abe, it would greatly disappoint a lot of people, including me. I'm sure many people wouldn't buy the game just because Abe is missing.

Thats true. At first i didn't buy Stranger's Wrath because it didn't have Abe. But Stranger's Wrath was an amazing game.

I agree. When people hear Abe they think Oddworld. if its a new character or Oddysee they might not be instrested

I didn't buy Stranger's Wrath when it first came out, strictly because it didn't have Abe in it. In fact, I still haven't played it, but would really like to.

Come on people. We all know it will either be Oddville or OddWars: an online browser game where you can spend the whole day clicking at stuff. And spend real money to finally have that giant Mudokon Shaman mask on top of your Industrial factory.

One thing's for certain: it would bring people here. If that's good or not, I shall leave it for discussion, but perhaps in another thread.


On topic, it would be great to have a new game with that authentic Oddworld atmosphere, but I wonder if anyone could bring out something new out of it. I mean, the classic concept of running about with Abe freeing-Mudokons-possessing-Sligs is there, but I can't imagine a new game being set on the same structure. Sure, the setting and the story could be brilliant, but the gameplay could end up like "been there, done that".

God, I hope not. Won't be buying if that's the case.

If the new game is that structure, it will be fantasic and it will be my Game of the Year. However it will have the problem of beening overshadowed by AO & AE

I would be happy with anythig, but I would be very happy if OddMobb would relase LVL Editor for AO, AE, If you could make your own textures for addition, you could make even your own full quality oddworld game.

AO and AE, that was the first game then came Munch which marked as the second game, and then Stranger which was a stand alone game. Ideally for me I want to see Munch's Exoddus followed by a second bonus game for Munch because Munch's story seems to be for me at least a complicated one vs Abe's story because the two of them are now together which makes things rather complicated. So 2 bonus games for Munch to finish off his story and then start the third game to the unknown character. I don't think he will be Squeek because that was a theory but ya never know.

Now about Abe, I think he should be in every game followed by Munch and so forth and so on. All and all the character's stories are kind of starting to over lap each other and making for an interesting story and game play.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time imagining it being anything other than a 2D downloadable in the style of AO and AE, with maybe a few changes and additions and whatnot. I may be totally wrong here, but that's really what I think it is going to be.

I'd like to see it be a sequel to AE. Maybe it could even be set between AE and MO. Maybe give things like the village place with the Raisen that Abe is in at the start of MO a bit of backstory since it feels like it's a different place then the one featured in AO and AE. Start off with a nice lead-in to MO. Then once it's out, they release the OddBox and move on to continuing the major story with Quintology games.

I'd also like to see SligStorm because I've loved the idea since it was first mentioned, but I've come to terms with never seeing it.

Honestly, though, I'd like ANYTHING. More Oddworld is more Oddworld. But since it's been so long since new Oddworld, I'd like it to have some familiar elements about it. At least some Paramites and Scrabs and whatnot. As much as I loved Stranger's Wrath, it had too little connection to the previous games to ignite my Nostalgia fire.

I hope they can successfully bring back the stealth element from the old games into a 3d realm without it being too splinter celly. Then have a god shrykull/ kick ass powerup component that acts as a polar opposite of the usual gameplay. And the shrykull (or other god character) should be able to move as well. But it shouldn't be too easy to aquire this power otherwise the game would probably be too easy. But if they are making a 2.5 game I'd be happy with whatever. Just original characters and challenging gameplay, so it is not too hard or too easy. So when is it coming out?
