What is funny is that she said people are over-reacting. Twat.

Strike Witch 08-26-2010 04:05 AM

FUCK THAT BITCH

I WILL KILL HER

Phylum 08-26-2010 04:58 AM

Nobody called my humor before, so here is a clarification.

Nemo 08-26-2010 05:04 AM

Because I happen to frequent a forum with a news section:
Her response to all this was that it was supposed to be a joke.

While the cat did manage to survive, it could've easily died if a garbage truck came by.

I never thought it would be trapped. I expected it to wriggle free.

Not only is she cruel, she's stupid. Who would ever have thought that when they found out she'd given at interview in The Sun. Oh well. At least she's got money out of it.

The RSCPA had better investigate further.

What about the cat's owners? I'd sue her to hell. They seem to be a little calm about it all. She may have made money from being publicised, but can't they take that away from her and thensome?

Also, what would have happened if this was a bloody dog? I bet she'd've been arrested.

Only if you can prove some lasting financial cost to yourself. If the cat's fine and you haven't needed to pay any vet bills, you're gonna get bubkis.

Still, why the hell doesn't the UK have laws against cruelty to animals?

Wil 08-26-2010 06:27 AM

It does. Criminal law isn't the only kind of law.

Xavier 08-26-2010 06:33 AM

This video was way too long...

Explain. Because If you do something like this where I live you get arrested and charged with a crime.

The thing is, people have been charged and arrested with animal cruelty here in the UK.

Perhaps its just Coventry. What a load of shitty policemen. :fuzmad:

Wil 08-26-2010 11:20 AM

I can't explain the difference, I know very little about law. But I know that there is a difference. But https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...8common_law%29 is interesting.

Why was this on the news? Haiti and Pakistan haven't stopped being in the shit, while this cat was only temporarily inconvenienced. I've known people who make a habit of flushing live hamsters down toilets and deliberately running over pets in the street, much worse than Bin Cat, but still pales in comparison to important, on-going events

Dixanadu 08-26-2010 01:06 PM

Lack of new stories perhaps. I dread what'll be on the news next week.

The "important" news is always on. It is my belief that people are just that little bit bored of it nowadays.

At least you compared this to concerns about earthquake and flood issues. If you'd said something about "the war", well, then that'd be something unbearable.

Also, how can one have a habit of flushing live hamsters down the toilet? That sounds more like more of an addiction than a habit, especially if they have to go out of their own way to purchase and then flush animals for their own sick amusement...

OANST 08-26-2010 01:18 PM

Let's worry about Haiti and Pakistan all the time! Hold on, I'm going to get my fix Haiti and Pakistan ray gun since there is totally something that I can do about it.

Bullet Magnet 08-26-2010 01:46 PM

It's probably next to the Get-Cat-Out-Of-Bin-In-The-Past ray gun

OANST 08-26-2010 01:49 PM

Nope. It's next to my Not-Allowed-To-Know-About-Or-Have-Opinions-About-Things-That-Aren't-Haiti-Or-Pakistan Ray Gun.

Bullet Magnet 08-26-2010 02:43 PM

Touché.

OANST 08-26-2010 02:44 PM

Thank you.

I smell a chaotic-neutral attitude. *girlish giggling*

...But Seriously

You're absolutely right. I'm very much about that approach myself.
I only approved of the comparison to those natural disasters because it wasn't news to do with things we, as human-being-folk, have fucked up ourselves.

Havoc 08-26-2010 04:40 PM

Funny stuff... hehe.

Dixanadu 08-27-2010 09:37 AM

Don't lie, Havoc. Your heart was broken at the thought of teh poor poody tat.

Dynamithix 09-01-2010 08:28 AM

I hope that whore dies in a fucking car crash.

Nemo 09-01-2010 08:32 AM

Yes, let us all wish gruesome deaths upon people.

Wings of Fire 09-01-2010 08:40 AM

That's what LaVeyan Satanism is all about!

Mac Sirloin 09-01-2010 09:41 AM

Cats are disgusting machinating fuckers, but she shouldn't have tossed it in a fucking garbage bin. That's dumb.

(...) I did laugh. I'm not entirely sure if it was a laugh of disbelief of that slipstick comedy mentioned.

I think the thing here that might be considered funny is either the unexpectedness of the cat being put in the bin (that is, if you don't know the title of the video nor the case itself before watching), or that you know what's going to happen, you're actually expecting the woman to do it, and it's the way she behaves before it happening.

Otherwise, I don't approve. I don't how how can anyone expect a cat to "wriggle free" from a bin like that.

Also: how well are CCTV cameras usually concealed? At some points in the video, she's suspiciously close to looking right into the camera before putting the cat in the bin. Desperate search for attention, perhaps?
