I'm finding it kind of hard to get new vns, as /rs/ and torrenting sites are starting to fail me more and more as I move out of the mainstream. Like Ever17, shit do I want to play Ever17.

I played most of the visual novels I played a few years ago, Ever17 included. I found most of them either by google or hongfire.

Chaos;Head is really damn good too. Horrible anime adaptation, though.

I'm from the UK, we have a law stipulating that my internet can get cut off if I go on any torrent sites which hold stuff that's copyrighted in the west. So that's basically everything except nyaatorrents, tvtoshio etc.

Also did you prefer the anime or the vn of Clannad? Because I definitely prefered the anime of Kanon, although I loved the vn too.

I much prefer the visual novel of Clannad. It's got everything the anime had and more. All the major routes are romantic and some of them aren't properly represented in the anime (not the anime's fault at all, of course) and it has some other mini-routes that never made it to the anime. Plus it all flows very well and is really fun to play. The anime is great too, though, even if it does get kinda hard to follow at the end of the second season.

For Kanon, I think I like the anime more. But only because of the annoyance I mentioned earlier about how they handled separating the routes. But there was still a lot of stuff I liked about the visual novel over the anime.

Yeah, the visual novel is translated. I highly suggest giving it a try. The anime was a horrible horrible god-awful representation of it.

I liked the Kanon anime better because of the final arc, and how it brought the whole cast in for the grand finale and that amazing scene with them all treating Ayu.

I'm not a depressing VN person, but I do like Umineko. I also played Aoishiro a bit.

As to manga, I read Hayate the Combat Butler, One Piece, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, The World God Only Knows, Sasameki Koto, and Break Blade.

On the Anime front, I've recently being enjoying K-On!!, Seitokai Yakuindomo, Working!!, and Strike Witches 2. I'm a big Gundam fan, and in the live shows department I like Kamen Rider.

Also I own pretty much every Touhou Project game.

I like all of these things a lot. Sasameki Koto is one of my favorite manga, right under Bakuman and The Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. I just wish it updated a bit faster. The people who translate it wait for the volumed releases.

I liked K-ON for like 4 episodes, then it got on my nerves.

I'd much rather KyoAni do something of more worth. Like another season of Full Metal Panic, considering their take on it (The Second Raid) was the best the series has ever been. I've also been waiting for a Little Busters adaptation. They fouled up the second season of Haruhi pretty bad too, but I was never super crazy about Haruhi anyway.

I have nothing for me this season, sadly.

Oh yeah. I finally finished Haruhi a few days ago.

The plot arc was great, the slice of life episodes were boring as shit except for the murder mystery.

I love slice of life. I just don't like K-ON.

Airing the show in a random order was genius, because the series was pretty boring in chronological order.

I recently came across an anime called Big-T!me Ollyfont. It's about a time travelling skateboarder and his greasy, middle-aged uncle who can write things into existence. Lots of wordplay and puns about lettering that aren't just endless streams of half-comprehensible Japanabullshit. The real draw for me was that they fight Kaiju monsters, a lot of which are parodies or out-and-out cameos of creatures or stuff from western culture.

The whole series is 30 episodes long, with about 26 Kaiju battles throughout. Highly recommended since it's legitimately funny for people who aren't fucking anime nerds and the Kaiju battles have some of the most efficient use of music, animation and aesthetic that I can think of. They're seriously fucking incredible.

Haruhi has a lot of potential to be a really good show, they just refuse to embrace that potential and fill it up with fluff like baseball and whatever the hell they thought they were doing with Endless Eight.

I still enjoyed the first season regardless of that, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. But I never got why people got so obsessed with it. I normally get annoyed by them implying more interesting things were going on and never dealing with them.

Basically, Haruhi was a decent show but it had good character dynamics that made them memorable.

Lucky Star slowed the fuck down, but it also had decent character dynamics that would have been better if it followed the manga a bit closer in regards to relationships (IE Miyuki's position adjusted etc).

Then K-On which has the best character dynamics down to an art.

Haruhi had the best animation though.
