Well, look at the scene with the Almighty Raisin- whenever Munch gets a little disrespectful in front of him, Abe gives him a smack or pulls his head. That's got to be, if not resentment, then at least annoyance

I never liked the idea of a moon for every 'hero'. The story in the OW games is so solid and the moons just seem like something they threw in there for the hell of it. Plot hole waiting to happen.
How is it a plot hole waiting to happen?
Not necessarily, Havoc- Supposing the moons orbiting Oddworld slowly revolve, eventually revealing the signs on them? That's just one of any number of possible explanations they could come up with if they put their minds to it. No plot holes there :D
Looking at the backgrounds of Stockyards in AO it seems Oddworld has lots of moons so if they all slowly revolve, maybe they all have signs on them for species all over Oddworld?
I heard When the oddbox will be released a lot of achievements will also be included...Wouldn't it be cool to get your own moon if you complete all achievements? :D
We don't deserve a couch, let alone a moon for beating some stupid achievements.
I heard, that at the end of the quintology, Abe goes back in time and blows his hand into the moon, to remind him in the future that he is the chosen one.
Maybe everyone else goes too! |

That has nothing to do with anything Crappin Elum.
@Slag, where did you find that out btw? |

One paw on one moon you can just barely get away with, but 5 is just overdone. Almost everything on Oddworld, down to the Glukkons glowing eyes, has a solid backstory or explanation except for the moons and that kinda bugs me. |
That's not a plot exactly, and the lack of explanation is integral to their purpose. They're accepted as omens by the native races despite the lack of explanation. In that capacity they make as much sense as any other supernatural element we've seen to exist on Oddworld. If it helps, think of them as simulacra: things that just happen to resemble the species' prints enough that willing believers will see them.
Next you'll be telling me you don't believe Jesus manifests his image on waffles. |
I would say the abe's moon more resurring and mysterious. It also gave abe purpose. Munch's is in my opinion pointless. He going to eggs, why you need a moon for that?
The fact that there is no explanation for them being there is what makes them omens; it means people are free to make their own explanation as to why they're there, e.g. "it's shaped like a paw because we are the Chosen Race". See? Explanations ruin all the fun ;)

Does Abe's moon change between AO and AE because of Abe disappearing finger?
Depends on whether you played the version of AO where the moon has three or four fingers.
no, moons, are white and round, planets are different colours, rocks and stuff are different shapes, anyway enough of that, back on topic, i didnt know there was a version of AO where he had three fingers, also, have you noticed that Abe's sprite in AE still has 4 fingers?
Here's Phobos, one of Mars' two moons. Notice how round it is not?
![]() Here's a scale chart of a good few moons within the solar system. Notice how white some of them are not? ![]() |

Thank you Oddworld Encyclopædia :D |
i knew that anyway thanks to the art of oddworld inhabitants, i didnt know that abe a gogo had 3 fingers though, i thought it was from Ae upwards... but anyway, why did abes sprite still have 4 fingers in AE?
