Hardly. I think most people here will agree that they chose to play Abe over Munch every chance they got because Munch was slow, annoying, and fairly useless outside of the game mechanics built specifically for him. As far as his involvement in the plot... it's Munch's Oddysee. His adventure. Of course Abe was pushed to the side, he was just there to help Munch along. If anything, Abe was probably used much more in the game than they originally intended.

I think Abe was pushed to the side because

a) The game wasn't about him, it was mainly about Munch.
b) At the time, OWI probably thought they'd be sharing the spotlight evenly between all of the Quintologians. They'd put more focus on Abe when they'd come full circle and celebrated all of the heroes.

Abe is a better character than Munch in my opinion, but Abe was never going to be the focus of all the games.

You're not going to handle the new games at all. If you can't take the fact that Abe won't be the star all the time then you might as well quit while you're ahead.

I don't really hear a similarity between Droopy and Munch. Maybe the somberness of their tone, but that's about it. Munch isn't deep or jowly enough.

I always thought it was a combination of a cane toad and Truman Capote. And then I realized they were essentially the same thing.

You think Munch's voice is annoying? Well I disagree, that's your opinion and you are of course entitled to it. BUT just you wait till you get right towards the end of the game, at the beginning of one of the last levels you'll save 2 Mudokens and you'll enter a short FMV. One of them has an insanely annoying voice!

I played MO for the first time around last year. Enjoyed it for the most part. Did seem a bit rushed. And of course I didn't like Munch's voice as well as Abe's, but that's probably do to game order, if anything. I could be wrong though.

Munch isn't exactly a talkative guy anyway, though. His hopping and jumping sound effects were far worse. No, the most distressing noise in the entire Oddworld series, for me, is the sound of a happy Fuzzle. You know? "Mee mee mee mee" SHUT UP!

I hated that they changed the sound of Abe's fart! Munch's burp isn't as good but he makes up for it with the face he pulls during it in gamespeak

and it was annoying how they changed his fart! and he didnt even laugh after it! the only thing i liked about munch's burp is the quotes abe says after it like: dude, whats up with that? and: thats just wrong (that ones the best).

I actually liked Munch's voice. The game itself was mediocre, but I liked the Munch character and his voice.

In what way did he use Abe? If you mean when he asked Abe to help him get the last can of Gabbiar, that's not exactly using, it's asking a favour from a friend.

Neither of them wanted to help the each other, but the Raisin told them their destinies are one. In the end, alot of what they accomplished could have only been done with each other's help.

I don't think it's that. I don't think he's saying "You done good" to mean "I approve of your methods and success rate", I think he means "You have done a thing for my benefit."
