I used to have so many cheese toasties as a kid.

Sekto Springs 04-02-2010 11:03 PM

I bet you have photo-albums full of pictures of those toasties.
Memooorieees.

I remember my tenth Hallowe'en; I went trick-or-treating dressed as a double helping of Cheese Toastie... good times, good times.

That long recipe

I have a sneeking suspicion that, that recipe was copy and pasted, but since i'm such a nice guy I'm gonna change some things...

:

()
Follow, Eat.
Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of milk or water
Salt + Pepper (optional)
Dried/fresh thyme (optional)
1 teaspoon butter
4 slices chosen bread (white, brown, tiger, nutty, melon......)
2-3 slices of cheese (depending on what is used)
4 slices bacon
Orders:

1. Begin frying bacon, continue orders. Turn when begining to crisp.

2.Beat eggs, milk/water, salt and pepper in bowl until mixed.

3.Heat butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Pour in egg mixture. As eggs begin to set, Gently pull the eggs across the pan with a spatula, forming large soft curds/lumps. Continue mixing or folding the eggs until thickened and no visible liquid egg remains. Remove from skillet. Clean skillet.

4.Place 2 slices of bread onto the skillet and top evenly with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon and thyme (preferably in between the cheese and bacon) cover with remaining bread.

5.Grill sandwiches over medium heat, turning once, until bread is toasted and cheese is melted, 2 to 4 minutes.

INFORMATIK by Herr Recipe Nazi:

Use a frying pan instead of a skillet

Heat pan/skillet before adding butter this way you can tell if the pan/skillet is to hot or to cold. You can also do this by placing your hand a small distance over the pan/skillet. If it's to cold you won't feel any heat if it's too hot you won't be able to hold your hand over it.

I thought the other recipe was too linear in bread and cheese and had a couple of pointless things in it. Recipe Nazi was one of those spur of the moment things.

That would have sounded hot in an Irish accent.

Yeah but I have that dreadful Noirn Oireland accent, my accent is mingled with the Irsh accent and the English accent; it sounds how diarrhea looks...

enchilado 04-04-2010 01:27 PM

Ew. You mean it's sort of brown and sloppy and has these revolting, unidentifiable lumps in it?

Wings of Fire 04-04-2010 02:05 PM

Smooth as a bowel movement.

Back in the early '90's, my brother found an advertisement for a computer store selling floppy and hard 'diks'. Oh how we laughed!

Phylum 04-04-2010 07:17 PM

I don't understand. Do you mean there was a typo?

Nate 04-04-2010 09:32 PM

Yes, precisely.

MA 04-05-2010 05:18 AM

PHYLUM GET IN THE GAME!

Ridg3 04-05-2010 05:52 AM

That used to be the joke of 3rd year for us,
"When I told you to insert your Three and a half inch floppy..."
Good times.

Nate 04-05-2010 06:03 PM

Do you possibly mean 'three and a half inch floppy'?

I don't know, the youngsters these days... just don't know shit about technology.
