For those who are a trifle confused, basically it's the mass and density rather than volume (size) that contributes to gravity.

But density is a product of mass and volume.

I was a confused trifle, because Jupiter is a gas giant and Oddworld is a terrestrial planet, it seems fair to assume Oddworld has a similar density to the terrestrial planets in our solar system.

The density of the terrestrial planets, moons and planetoids in our solar system vary significantly. Generally, the larger they are, the denser they are, since its own gravity squeezes the planet smaller until the outward pressure of its matter equals the gravitational pull. Mercury bucks this trait by almost being as dense as Earth, the densest body in the solar system.

Yep thats right, and it's a fair guess Oddworld might work in the same way

In the same way as what? Earth or Venus?

Fuck that gravity Abe has a huge eye I would just stick my finger in it

i would also like to put my finge r in hit squidgy eye.

Grieva 03-25-2010 05:50 PM

Oddworld may form in the same way as Earth or Venus, giving it comparable density

I'd just shout 'hello, wait, follow me' then jump over a small gap, problem solved :p

MA 03-25-2010 06:03 PM

maybe do what WoF said: draw up a table and chairs, and give Abe a maths quiz. that would apparently beat him.

enchilado 03-25-2010 06:40 PM

I think you'd win if you quizzed Abe on anything.

Rayrockslots 03-25-2010 09:51 PM

You mean like, The density of Oddworld? I think Abe would just fart his way to victory if you tried that.

Abe's dense, does that count?

Arf arf!

I-I-I-I would ch-chant him first on a ledge then splode his head with little chant balls!

Lord Stanley 03-26-2010 11:15 AM

I'd pull out a concealed knife, and I wouldn't have to punch him at all.

I have a Stammer. I find that offencive!? :fuzmad:

I'd pull out a concealed BlitzPacker, and I wouldn't have to punch him at all.

EDIT: Crash posted. Dammit.

Yes, you do.

Don't forget that mudokons must have weak skulls. It only takes a few self-inflicted blows to the head to kill a mudokon on Abe's Exoddus.

So I would first trip him up, poke him in the eye, then slap his head multiple times until he dies. Then I would scare off the birds so he can never respawn. :)

Or very strong arms.

True.

It puzzles me why mudokons would evolve to be able to destroy their own skulls so easily...

MeechMunchie 03-27-2010 10:59 AM

The same reason we have a respiratory system stupidly connected to our digestive system: Evolution is a bitch.

Jango 03-27-2010 11:13 AM

Come to think of it, you wouldn't be able to trip Abe over easily; he has large feet.

Lord Stanley 03-27-2010 12:25 PM

Abe is very clumsy.
