...so Portal Prelude.
|
:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...s-a-New-Ending That's where I saw it at. |
:
Edit: Infact, he almost definately WILL be an AI. :
|
I'm thinking Chell will return as the playable character. I'm pretty sure she's doomed to being a test subject for the rest of her life, poor gal.
|
Portal 2 officially announced.
|
An only 4 minutes ago? WOW.
They sell Game Informer in the UK, don't they? |
Well, it was obviously a forgone conclusion.
|
GLaDOS's back! (http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archi...-revealed.aspx )... but I thought I tore her to pieces... she looks pretty well (except no cores on her) :D

It's mildly spoilerific, but here is an article about Portal 2.
|
What the hell kind of name is 'Wheatley'?
|
Only read the first bit of the first page. GlaDOS is pissed.
|
And Still Alive.
|
I like the robots. I want to be the Personality Core one.
|
Is it me or does that concept art of Chell look a LOT like Ripley from the Alien films?

Okay, um, I love the new ending. It totally complies with the ending soon after everything is falling, y'know, the part with the cake's candle being extinguished? I really think that Chell is dead, since you hear the robot saying 'Thank you for aaauming the party escort submission position' and then you hear machenery and her body keeps jolting.
I hate that I only have the 360 version, because the radio thing seems really cool and something i would liek to try. I would also like for a sequel to come out. you know what I never got? The ratmen's nest. I know that people escaped and went insane, but it looks like they never got out of Aperature Science, and that they had to live there. The writing is very creepy, and I like the sinister twist the game took. |
Read the article scans in my previous post. The player's character in Portal 2 is Chell, so she can't be dead.
If you read the articles' supplementary info you'll see that they originally planned to have a robot character stalking Chell through the Aperture Science buildings in Portal 1, watching from a distance until you finally entered the Party Escort Submission Position. |
Has anyone completed 'Transmission Received', btw?
For me, it was quite a good reason for another play-through. Some of the radio locations were pretty tricky - prying one out from that gap between the ceiling and the ball dispenser (is there a more specific term for those?), for instance. Don't have the achievement yet though. |
Haven't got the achievement yet, but yeah, some are infuriating to get, especially the ones that really require you to ace your portal placement and momentum maintenance. I've given up for the time being in lab 18, I think it is. I keep knocking the radio on what I can only assume is an invisible lip to the edge of platforms that only affects objects you're carrying, and it goes spinning off into the goo every time. Grrr.
|
GOD, It told me I had to refresh the page to respond!
Anyway, the robot stalking you would be really fucking creepy. And it would go nice with the new ending because she finally made the position. I looked at the site and couldn't find anything on that, Nate. Did I miss something? |
In the sidebar on the left of the second page of this article: http://gameinformer.com/b/features/a...lf-life-2.aspx
|
Well.....
I'll have to look for this 'Hoopy the Hoop' thing. And it would seem that the stalker-bot would be happy when Chell finally died (or whatever). I can just picture it: "GOD! That took FOR-EV-IR!" |
Original Portal is free for the next ten days! Now you have no excuse not to have played it.
http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/ |
I have it on 360, but I got it again. Gives me more excuses never to put The Orange Box in the disc tray now.
EDIT: Why do Source based games run like shit on my computer? I can run MW2 much better than this, and no knocking Valve but MW2 seems like it would be more taxing than Portal. |
The following post is only my idea of the next Portal/Half Life EP3 game and might contain SPOILERS:
This idea might be already here but I think that Portal and HL2:EP3 merge into one game. Gordon gets Portal gun or similar weapon? There is another GLaDOS on the Borealis which has the imported mind of Johnson. If you look at the powerpoint presentations in portal you can learn something about the new GLaDOS on Borealis. It inhibits ice. It disappeared with a piece of the drydock: It teleported to a place where there's loads of ice. All this because the new GLaDOS has a mind of it's own and it wanted to be free somewhere etc.. + All the encrypted pictures that GLaDOS sends through the morse-coded and Robot-coded messages and the video in EP2 where Mossman can be seen in a snowy area. The Borealis is somewhere where there is lots of snow. Thoughts anyone? |
My thoughts are that you should read the article posted previously and realise that that is unlikely, to say the least.
|
The idea of GlaDOS on the Borealis dosn't make that much sence to me.
|
I said another GLaDOS. With Johnsons mind in it. The GLaDOS got scared and teleported itself to a remote location? :D
