A bit too linear and rat-a-tat-tat for me.

I like Modern Warfare BECAUSE it's set in the modern day and doesn't reuse the WW2 concept over and over and over and over and over and over like it did with the first 3 parts. Those games are boring as hell because all you do is run to cover and shoot, mostly with the same gun or an occasional grenade. MF2 is so popular because it offers a great deal of variety in the missions. Some are stealthy, some are full of action. Sometimes you have guns, sometimes you have an APC at your disposal. Things like that make this game popular.

Let's be honest here. You like it because you get to see America on fire.

Havoc 11-21-2009 06:01 AM

Actually I didn't know America would be so brutally ass raped in this game until I was in the middle of it and saw the shit nuked out of Washinton DC. So no, that's not the reason I got it but it was a very nice surprise. :p

The US-parts were enjoyable in the game. Those suburban fights with Predator drones and the APC were fun, with all that zig-zagging from restaurant to restaurant. Later on, when I first stepped out of that certain bunker and see the condition the Washington Monument was in and the surroundings, I couldn't help thinking "Now where have I seen this before?" The 'total darkness' part was refreshing though, along with the rest of that campaign.

The stealth parts are good indeed. First mission with MacTavish in the Russian base, for example. There's everything you'd want in that one, supposing you want stealth, change of plans and snowmobile chases.

Michael Atkinson tries to get Modern Warfare 2 banned in Australia.

You know, in case that guy couldn't get stupider.

Leto 11-24-2009 07:59 PM

I'd like to imagine it were Rowan Atkinson instead.

Havoc 11-24-2009 10:23 PM

They tried to ban this game over here in Holland as well, can you believe that? Some dipshit wanted it off the shelves because the airport scene, which is optional and not even that intense to begin with. Only thing politicians hear is that you play as a terrorist. OMG NOEZ!

SeaRex 11-24-2009 11:14 PM

I think I'm the only one out there that actually enjoyed the completely ape shit story.

Call me crazy, but I like villains to be a little bit more than a cardboard cut-out of Saddam Hussein or some bald Russian guy with hurt feelings.

SEE WHAT I DID THERE? THOSE WERE THE VILLAINS IN THE FIRST MODERN WARFARE! HURK A DURP.

Daxter King 11-24-2009 11:36 PM

Do Russian airports not have security cameras?

master of hardcore 11-25-2009 02:41 AM

why buy this game for playing alone lol. multiplayer fucking great!

Strike Witch 11-25-2009 02:42 AM

Why.

dripik 11-25-2009 03:20 AM

Why bother with OWF when you could be 'hardcoring' the hell out of MW2 servers?

gain points by massacring civilians

Don't you just love the lack of knowledge these people show when it comes to games they're "fighting" against?... Just like when Jack Thompson said something like "killing civilians and the arriving policemen is the #1 way to win in GTA games".
