He is the evil demon of the forums, buying all the Oddworld Merchandise he can get off Ebay with his enormous wealth.

But the great Lord OANST once played a trick on the demon, forcing the mighty Heath to lose all his money. The Demon retreated into exile and has rarely been spotted since.

Cullen was this thirteen-year-old brat that had a brief stint here on the forums to milk us for merchandising information. His mommy and daddy are filthy rich and bought him pretty much anything he wanted, including pretty much any and all Oddworld merchandise that appeared on eBay, regardless of price or shipping method.

If you browse the older pages of the Oddworld Buy thread you'll probably find a few of his posts and all the disappointed remarks we made in losing to him. I mean, this kid would set his first bid at some ridiculous number so no one could outbid him - fucking prick. At first I found it admirable that he would be willing to spend so much for the sake of fandom, but then I looked at his eBay history and saw that he just threw money away on all kinds of stupid shit just for the sake of having it. He spent like two grand on some vintage Madonna poster.

As FG mentioned, he also bought up this life-sized, fiberglass, promotional statue of Abe and Munch. The sculpture was off-model and ugly as sin, but he just had to have it because it was Oddworld. If I remember correctly, the shipping was pick-up only, and even though it was nowhere near where he lived his daddy flew out and picked it up for him anyway.

There was a brief wave of Oddworld merchandise popping up on eBay, and I say he bought 95% of it. Mat, however, gave him his just desserts. Cullen payed him tons of money for Mat's massive collection of OW gear, Mat took the money and ran and Cullen saw not one piece of it. I'd like to think it bugs him to this day, but his parents probably reembersed him in full and bought him his own rodeo clown to cheer him up. The clown was promptly slaughtered after Cullen got bored with it and was made into multi-colored glue sticks.

For the record, I like Cullen.

From what I remember Cullen was quite a nice person around the forums.

He was a nice guy on the forums, I never had any problem with him.

Of course you mods like Cullen, you've met Lorne. You have merchandise. You have no regrets about anything because you run this joint and control all Oddworldian venues in the community. You wouldn't have anything against him, or anyone really. Nice or not, I strongly dislike those who are wealthy and careless with said wealth. I'd be happy with just one poster... if I had his money, I wouldn't make it so that every other Oddworld fan had absolutely no chance of ever getting their mits on a scrap of vintage Oddworld goodness.

For what it's worth, I've met Lorne and I have no merch other than what I was able to outbid Cullen (and FG) for. Didn't even end up with an autograph.

And, yes, I've got no issues with Cullen.

Cullen bought all my shit for the tune of around $1100. Movie posters, stickers, patches, stacks of what was left of OWI's Christmas cards and envelopes which I ended up with, T shirts, English and French promotional folders for AO and AE with slides, and on and on.

This was before I came back to OWF, and had things been different, I'd have rather given the stuff away to my friends here that wanted it.

I have no problem with Cullen. I spoke with him on the phone for a good two and a half hours one day; he'd asked if he could call me once he found out who I was. He's a very passionate fan indeed. Certainly not unworthy of the merchandise. He was very modest and certainly likeable.

This is just how the world works guys- the big bucks get what they want. If you don't like it, then change it, and stop complaining.

In the awards thread, where you have to vote for some one who would make a good mod, I recall voting for Cullen (2007). At the time I was a yougen and wasn't buying stuff off ebay and he was quite nice to me. I wasn't aware of he's lust for (Oddworld) treasure.

I take it there was a lot of stuff back then? The only things left on eBay are a Abe's Exoddus Drawing and a clearly fake Soul Storm Brewery hat.

Anyway, Cullen does sound like a bit of a ass, but if we had that amount of money, i'm sure we would do the same.

He seemed very nice. I don't remember that much of him, but he added me on MSN, I'm not sure whether he's still on there, I'll have to check.

I wondered why there was hardly any Oddworld merch on eBay. I don't agree with what he did, sounds a little selfish to me. It may sound like I'm being jealous, but I wish he'd have just left some for other people.

While I got my games autographed, I got no merch from Lorne. The reason I didn't point this out is because, after reading SS's post carefully, he didn't actually say there was a causal relationship. Virtually all my merch was bought on eBay, and I lost loads of stuff to Cullen.

Wow, so now that's two "Cullens" that are hated by the Oddworld Forum crew (Including the one from Twilight). I can't see much merchandise on ebay now besides a personalized Abe mug (which is probably by a guy who keeps making them).
