gluk shmuck, what the hell is illogical about anti-capitalists? if not liking the fact that more than three-quarters of the world's wealth is shared amongst one tenth of the population is illogical, then count me illogical. pro-capitalists, present company excepted for now, are SCUM. i would like to add them to my pet peeves list. quite near to the top.

you can group them in the 'Rabidly Right-Wing' section, alongside :'george w. bush, and anyone else who puts money above all else', 'people who think that communism must always be like the soviet union used to be [it doesn't have to be like that, if done properly]', 'social classes, and anyone who tries to uphold them', 'Nazis, Racists, Sexists, and anyone who holds a prejudice against another person for whatever reasons'.

you may get the impression that i'm some kind of socialist. and you'd be right.

i'm not saying there's a problem with wanting other people to be happy...i'm just saying:
if the world was anticapitalist then there'd be no incentive for people to work because everyone gets the same stuff - and if people didn't work then the world'd be rubbish

P.S. i may be pro-capitalist but i'm not as bad as GWBush apparently is

'anticapitalism' just means against Capitalism - this includes Communists, Socialists, and any reasonable people.

what happened in Russia was called Communism, but it wasn't proper Communism, it was Evil Stalinism, which is completely different. what happened in Russia was just Capitalism by another name.

to distinguish myself from the evils that were done in the name of Communism, i call myself a Socialist, or a Marxist. but we're all still opposed to Capitalism, which is NEVER a good thing.

i'm going to clarify the difference between Stalinism and Marxism. Communism is basically about sharing and cooperation [whereas Capitalism is about selfishness]. now, a common definition of Communism is 'The Belief that the People exist to serve the State'. this is partially true, but it depends on your definition of 'the state'. in Marxism [good communism] the state is defined as the people in it, whereas in Stalinism, the state is defined as its leader. therefore:

Capitalism: The Belief that the People exist to serve Themselves.
Communism: The Belief that the People exist to serve the State.
Marxism: The Belief that the People Exist to serve Each Other.
Socialism: The Belief that the State exists to serve the People.
Stalinism: The Belief that both the State and the People exist to serve the Leader.

I have some more things to add to this topic.

Some more of my pet peeves include people on discussion boards who don't have the courtesy to type using capital and lowercase letters where appropriate.

People who post excessively while it is obvious they have nothing to say. It's disrespectful to other members who come here to read interesting and amusing posts. The forums will become a waste of time, causing members not to return. This results in post after post of senselessness, boring junk. Nobody wants to read it.

Oh, sorry Sydney, I didn't realise it irritated you so much... :( I Capitalise properly when I remember, it's just that sometimes it's easier to not do...

I'll be more careful in future, sorry.

Dragadon, I agree. People who drag up old topics for no reason irritate me too. But I have no problem with people bringing up old topics if they have something new to contribute.
