:( Boo, no cookies for you. BTW: Sligs are smarter in AO. They shoot without asking questions and they can usually tell if you're possessed or not :D
|
I know, they were some ruthless mofos back then :D
Yet they said 'Hi!' if you said hello lol. On MO though, they went a bit... soft. P.S. Aw man, i love cookies :( |
Haha, I love the fact that they talk back to you. It's nice :D
They aren't that soft in MO. Beating them one-on-one is still a challenge. I like the MO taunting, it's so funny to watch a little Slig run about in his pants :D |
I can imagine it would be fun to kill all of them, but frankly I'm too much of a push over. I think I could do it because they don't cry or anything, but in games like fable I can only do a few evil things before I crack and become good again.
I have more trouble killing the sligs though, because they're intriguing and I usually stare at them and listen to them so long they kill me -_-; |
I love having karma/quarma choice in games. Thats why i love Oddworld and Fallout :D.
Lol. The Sligs say stuff like 'Poo brain' and 'Butt face' and get shot for it :p N' whenever I go one on one with a Slig I die lol. |
Killing! >=)
Well mostly in AE cause it's so fun and creative! :D |
:
|
Lol. Now that's, a good point.

Alexfili is in love with Sligs.
|
Thats rich coming from the guy who made the Take Me Out video! :D Sligs are one of my favorite videogame characters. I prefer to say 'Strongly Like'. They still piss me off sometimes, especially in AO.
|
You could say you have a love hate relationship, do they allow you to date other Cthulhian video game antagonists? And are you constantly jeered by people calling you 'That freaky slig guy'?

My favorite videogame character of all time is Wario but i don't really talk about him. |
True, but this is an Oddworld forum, not a Nintendo/Smash Brothers one :p
In Abe's Oddysee it's rewarding to save them, even if you can only rescue them one-by-one. Some of those secret areas are really annoying to get to :P |
The secret areas in AO were okay, but the one that really got me flared was that one in the Paramonian Temple, the dreaded 'Paramite Zone' of Rupture Farms. Hitting that meat sack, running left and rescuing one. Repeating. THEN BLOODY ROCKS START FALLING AND I DIED! I did laugh and say...ain't that a bitch?
I only saved 74 on my first playthrough. 99 on my second (two days...with the help of a Secret Area Index.) As for AE and it's secret areas, maybe when I have more free time. I only did save 162 of them. But anyway...back on topic, when I was going for 99, if I was trying to get one Mudokon to safety, only having him die on me, I'd vent my frustration by finding a way to kill the guy next to him. Or myself. |
Th trick with that area is to open the escape portal before you intend to leave, and then stand right next to it when you let the scrubs escape.
|
I like saving them, its more challenging. (even going to annoying levels in AE.)
I did like to kill them when I first played Oddworld tho. |
Killing them. For 2 reasons:
- The possibilities are endless! I've killed some in very unique ways. You can also get some of them to kill others. It's quite sadsitic! :P On the other hand, there's usually only one way to save a single Mudokons. - It is, in fact, much harder than saving them. There are some puzzles that include Mudokons that are quite easy to save, but the developers didn't design them to allow the player to kill the Mudokons, which creates an unintentional (yet fun and challenging) puzzle, in which you have to use tricks involving the AI system, passing areas designed to require a Shrykul without using it, and so on. My "worst" record: (Today I'll start a new game, trying for even worse! :D) 276 killed 8 saved (6 from the early levels, 2 from the game ender) My best is perfect (300 saved) |
AE is an absolute beast, i haven't managed to save all of them yet.

I'm sure that that contribution was interesting, but allow me to point you in the direction of Photobucket or some other alternative, as the page you gave us wants me (and so I assume everybody else) to log in to view the image. Unfortunately, not everybody has an AOL/Bebo (myself included), and so not everybody can see what you want them to. Please don't take this comment as mean-spirited or in any other negative sense. Look on it more as helpful. |
have you heard of txting it is the same thing basicly anyway check out the screenshot it is on abes oddysee
i come from new zealand it is how we talk and how we spell we dont know any better lol |
Except that New Zealand has an excellent educational system, you do know better and forum rules state that correct English grammar and spelling must be used at all time. No discussion.

I've done back-to-back runs, where I save them all first, and kill as many as possible next. Though there are instances where you can kill them creatively and hilariously, way too many Muds are nowhere near the convenient bone drill / pit / high explosive / shockwall, and as such are a hassle. Also, by simply killing some of them, you miss out on the puzzle involved had you saved them.
Now a combination of the two runs - THAT'S fun. |
saving them.Killing them is too easy and...boring:fuzemb:
