Well like many posters did say, Abe didn't need Big Face after he got his hand scars. I'm sure Big Face is off training other newbies.

I think his blue skin is probably just a random genetic occurance, like an albino Slig ;)
By the way, did you notice that in the intro to AO's Rupture Farms, there were blueish mudokons pulling levers? (unless the lighting was blue or something)

I think its safe to say that if we didn't like Abe at all we would have never joined this site in the first place.

I'm sure that not everyone who likes Dragonball Z likes Goku, just as not everyone who likes Star Wars likes Luke/Anakin/Vadar/etc.

Based on the poll at the moment, 9% of us don't like Abe and probably wouldn't care if Abe suddenly disappeared from the next few games. I must admit that the reason I like Oddworld so much is probably the Sligs. They are just so darn lovable, when they aren't trying to shoot you.

They even say 'Hi' to Abe if you say 'Hello' to them! How nice!

Anyway, Abe is a crucial character, but he's not the one and only saviour.
Stranger's Wrath proved that a game without Abe can work.

I voted that I liked the guy but I wouldn't mind seeing a few more oddworld games without him either...

especially of it's citizen siege :p

I think I would agree with Alf. He is total clutz. Is that the right spelling. Anyways he is cool to play with. If he was smart and powerful then that would be a whole different story.

The choices above doesnt determine what I think of him. I understand where he comes from and why he is called 'Stitch Lips' Why does he have to be blue or as lorne says 'purplish-green.' From I see it he was not the chosen one, Abe just happens to be at the right place at the right time. Probably Big Face lost contact with him after AO discovering his pupil was a clutz.

It is clear in the game he is blue except for FMV. Even phleg says so. :D
In AO he looked indeed to be purplish-green, at least in FMVs, if I recall correctly. In AE colors were shifted around, and fingers were lost :(

By the way, in the opening FMV for Abe's Oddysee, every other mudokon was also blue :p

It depends really for me on what is happening to me at that moment in time - but I generally like abe, he's a good fella.
