While there is Child Porn on /b/ it's generally not rife. Not the hours I visited it anyway.

I haven't really seen any forums like that, and if all those members were regularly active like the ones here, then...it would be a huge mess. It could never result in the same community of people that get to know each other in the way this one does either.

And who says this forum has degenerated? By some peoples standards, maybe, but that's still a purely opinionated thought. Some of us could go as far to say it's upgraded *shrugs* I hadn't thought about this forum in either way at all until this thread popped up. I doubt anyone else did either. Considering Mushroom has been absent for a while too, they're more likely to notice any differences as a result. I have no problem with the forum's current state, I find it amusing to read mostly. Even when actual Oddworld stuff to talk about pops up, there'll still be significant remnants of the current stage of progress, which would be good. It gives this place it's own personality, so to speak. And it's not like we don't care about Oddworld anymore (presuming we all did when we joined), as otherwise W@RF wouldn't have got so far.

My opinion is the forum is fine. Otherwise we wouldn't still be here. Most no one else minds either, as should be obvious. If you don't like it, fine, but don't state opinion as fact.

It's not full of dickheads, it's not crowded, and it's not a place I post my yaoifics.

This forum is a very small one. There are ones this size, small ones e.g. the ones at spacebattles.com, big ones like most official site forums of big things, and the OMG HUGE ones like 4chan.

The reason I say that a healthy forum needs more members than this one has is nothing to do with content, and isn't a disparagement of you guys or anything in any way. All I'm saying is that a board of this size doesn't attract enough new members for replacement and will inevitably go under given enough time. Hopefully, Citizen Siege will give us enough new members to hit MVP again.

4chan is not a forum, even if it wasn't an imageboard I wouldn't call any board where people can post anonymously a forum.

Even if it was a forum it'd still contribute evidence for the hypothesis that all huge forums are shit stains on the internet.

Speaking from years of experience, the Oddworld Forums have remained consistently active during the down periods between Oddworld releases. There isn't a shadow of doubt in my mind that we'll be around for years to come, and then some.
