When I saw the new title, the first thing I thought of was
|
I seriously thought Film Actors Guild too.
I feel dirty that I did. I wish I didn't. |
It's funny how OANST's status text underneath his custom sig is brighter than Havoc.
Does that make the Daily Tiger the old bastard whose power and influence is fading faster than his thrusts at night? |
Actually his status text is the exact same colour, have your eyes checked.
And wtf? |
Ok then, it looks more impressive because it's two lines.
Fading thrusts, fading thrusts... |
I have now been banned from the Doublefine forum. This frees me up to spend more time here! You fuckers have my undivided attention!
|
Oh dear. What did you get up to there?
Links, please. |

But it sounds funnier.

Having never heard of Double Fine, Pilot hops on google to find this fabled "forum" They have a profanity filter? Seems like the admin lusts after control and power, then belays responsibility by saying, "I don't make the rules, I only enforce them." Anyone censoring things to that degree is in denial.... but then this isn't the 'real world' is it, it's the "internet" where reality does not apply. Any links we can dissect and criticize more thoroughly? |
As a legal entity, Double Fine has more of a responsibility about the content of its message board than some Australian kid.

Really I think that when you take away the right for reasonable personal expression you get an explosive backfire of rebellion; people going out of their way and trying very hard to 'fan the flames.' That's the root of the problem of 'censorship"- inhibition. I'm not saying that a forum like that should be anything but what they are as they already have a purpose, but overratic admins don't help create a fun and relaxed atmosphere. These kids aren't being exposed to anything they're not hearing out in the world anyway. On the other side of the coin, it is senseless to simply *let* people disrupt the intention of a forum like that and run it off the rails. We're talking about a video game forum for god's sake. OANST, I've been banned from forums for questioning authority too. I was never disruptive.... it's just when asked for the reasoning behind certain rules it seemed the the administratorship that I was challenging their authority and *boom* I was banned, when all I wanted was a common sense explanation. I feel that rules without logical justification are unjust and more for the control of the enforcer. I'm also a very anti-establishment thinker. :D Screw forum politics and pecking order, the apponted 'leaders' are there for enforcement if necessary not 'control' like I see a lot of other places...... as I learned here back in '01: My god, it's just a forum! Jeebus Christ save us all! ;) |
I'm really not distressed about it. I only had 100 or so posts. Whereas, when Alcar accidentally IP banned me from here I lost all touch with reality. I sent him five increasingly frantic emails. I imagine that the last was illegible because of my e-tears.

He wasn't here for Wired.
POWER WAS ABUSED! OH, LAWD! THEY ABUSED IT SO HARD! |

And someone cooler than you.

Just me.

It amuses me to see how quickly we can de-rail a thread.

This is another OWF public service announcement I've been asked to post on behalf of the administrative and moderator team. |
I only eat meat that still has a pulse.

It can be taken other ways.

I've decided on my third wish. I want my name changed to oanst. I'm thinking that a complete overhaul of my face on here is in order. If Alcar deems me worthy of the name change I will also change my avatar. And I've had that bastard since I started here.
So drink up Alcar! It's your turn! |
