Yup nice chapter ^^ (why do most people always complain about cliffhangers, I think they're cool, especially this one! I wanna know what happens next :D!)

Ok, so I'm not very happy with this chapter. I'm not sure why, but I don't think it's as good as some of the others. Oh well.

Chapter 8: Into Custody

After his eyes came into focus it took him a few seconds to comprehend what he was seeing. A grey brick wall was before him. Confused, he glanced around, trying to figure out where he was. An unbidden groan of helplessness, with a hint of annoyance, escaped him as he realised.
The Sligs had managed to capture him, and he was now resting in a cell made up of shiny black bars. There wasn’t a bed or anything, so he was on the floor. Whether it was day or night he couldn’t tell, as there were no windows that he could see. The air was warm and smelled of cigarette smoke.
He stood, surprised to find his hands trembling, and tried to get a better view of things. A Slig was in the corner watching the TV, a cigarette in his hand, unaware that was awake. Just above him was a clock. Chad
A second Slig strode into the room, a gun strapped to its mechanical legs. He spotted and grinned widely, his face tentacles splaying outwards. returned the grin with a blank face.
“Did you know he was awake?” the second Slig asked the first, gesturing to the Chronicler.
“No,” the first Slig answered uninterestedly, not taking his eyes off the TV. The second one frowned, aware that he wasn’t going to get any more words from his partner as long as the TV was on. He turned his back on the Slig and approached Chad
“So,” the Slig said, “how are you feeling?” His tone was kind and friendly, as if he just wanted to make conversation, but underneath there was an unmistakable sign of mockery.

decided not to answer. Instead he asked a question of his own.

“How did I get here? I don’t remember anything.”
The Slig hesitated, as if he didn’t know whether to tell the truth or not. In the end he replied, “After you managed to evade that first patrol we decided to be a bit more discrete. You didn’t see him, but there was a Slig a little farther down the street behind you. He used tranquilliser darts to knock you unconscious and then radioed to the others.”

considered this information. “So how did you find me so quickly?”

The Slid sighed angrily, his tone changing. “If you must know, there was someone in the crowd that saw you disappear into that ally. It only leads to one place so it was just a matter of getting someone there first, which was easy enough. Now enough of talk. You’re here for a reason: murder. You killed that Chronicler, and the Slig you attacked suffered severe head injuries and probably won’t survive the night. You’re to be held here for tonight and tomorrow you’re going to be interrogated. After that a choice on what to do with you will be decided.”
Without anymore words the Slig turned around and sat at a desk, refusing to talk to when he called out. The one in the corner laughed to himself occasionally, amused by whatever he was watching.
The hours ticked by at an agonisingly slow pace, and all could do was sit in his cell and stare at the floor, his mood getting worse and worse. At first when sleep came he welcomed it, but soon his mind became racked with nightmares and he longed to wake up to save himself from the horrific images.

Chad? Captured? By a slig? Tranquilizer? I'm astounded. That was unexpected. Me likey this chapter just as much as the others even if it had a little less "move" in it.:D Next chapter soon please.

Physics... As in the complicated ones? Like, if an object moves at a certain speed and blah blah blah time apocolypse. I'd love to study them at some point.

Well, I like this chapter, sometimes stories need chapters like these, now we know what happend... and we are very anxious for the next chapter.
I liked the Slig in front of the TV, his part was short, sliggish and funny, you also described Chads feelings etc... well
and I wonder how Chad will get out of all this trouble :D

Yay, thanks. I was hoping it would be a surprise that he'd got caught.

Ok, so, I don't have a new chapter at the moment. The thing is, writing two fanfics at the same time is more difficult than I thought. Combine that with school, homework, watching TV, doing artwork, reading, meeting up with friends, loads of other stuff and, well, yeah... Let's just say I'm having difficulties.

Those of you who like this fanfic, DON'T WORRY, I'm not canceling it. I'm just going to put it hold until I finish Shrown. I promise that I will come back to it eventually.
