Assassin, my deceased jumper. I miss him much. :fuzsad:

I don't get Arachniphobes--That is a genuinely cute animal but they think it's going to eat their hair or something.

I really bloody hate Spiders. I can't stand them, but I thought "I'll scroll down the page, see how far I get... Ugh, never again (truth be told I had my eyes closed for a lot of it so this picture may already have been posted. Meh.

That's a Solpugid, not a spider. Jesus, get with the program...

Fuzzle Guy 07-27-2008 02:23 PM

:p

Sorry, My rediculous fear of spiders only saw me as far as seeing the thumbnail of it on google images, where it was labelled "Big Spider", in which I thought "look good enough to me".

OANST 07-27-2008 02:31 PM

I also am terrified of spiders. Like bowel clenching terror. They are satan incarnate. Also not a fan of centipedes. Blech.

Ah, the 'camel spider'. We have a much smaller sub-species that lives around here. I caught one at work years ago, had no idea what it was, so I took it to the entomologist at Fresno State. They're apparently known as Wind Scorpions. Nasty thing, gave me a terrible bite for its size.

The animals pictured, however, are not as large as they seem. It's just a case of trick/piss-poor photography. Youtube 'camel spider' sometime.

I caught this big girl a couple of days ago after she jumped at my sister in our patio. I never caught a wolf spider this vicious, she was trying to bite me through the cup!

wolfspider1

I caught this fella last night around 2:00 AM when he ran into my room and dashed at my feet. XD

wolfspider2

Both spiders were properly fed, watered, and released.

You are such a great person.

Note that I have no picture of this spider ut I can tell you that a year ago, I went into the bathroom and saw this huge spider as big as your palm. I thought it was just a fake one left by my annoying smaller siblings. When I reached over it moved a little. I was most sincerely creeped out. Somehow we managed to get it outside again. Not a tarantula.

I'm not really afraid of spiders, but I prefer staying away.:D

You have these monsters in Florida? I’m never going there, then.

It’s taken me 20 years to not run away leaving a trail of bricks whenever I see a house spider. This thread makes my stomach tie itself into a knot.

Thanks and they're the worst when they are above you while you're showering XD.

This guy can grow up to 3 inches and build webs larger than me. I even heard they can make webs 20 feet in height.
