My conclusion: We are all extremly close connected to animals no matter how cool humans consider themself to be.

This I agree with wholeheartedly.

If there were no animals, there would be no us, since we evolved from, and are animals.
But if there was an apocolpyse of some sort and ever seapcies but huamns died out, of course we would be screwed, we do rely heavly on animals, very heavily.
But we also rely very heavily on plants aswell, and we may just surive with just plants, but the fact of the matter is, with our current economy, we rely heavily on animals, and therefore, I argue that our economy should be attempted to be shifted from our reliance on animals, so we can futher their survival, and their treatment.
Of course this will be an extremly long and difficult and nearly impossible process, but so is saving our planet from the other million or so things we've set upon it.
Oh yeah, and that video reminds me when I was 10 or so, and was obsessed with animals, and the lion king. :P

Hypocrite. Technology is part of what makes us better than the animals.

Besides, I could take a tiger.

See that there bear? I'd kick it in the face and it'd die. Simple.

mudling 04-16-2008 03:05 PM

Hobo, I'm sure you'd just have to look at it (Haha, I feel like I'm in primary school).
And anyone could take a tiger... with a rocket launcher (... I play to much Halo and COD)

Ouch, guess some people can't detect sarcasm.

I haven't read what you people have wrote yet: It's a little late and me and Alector wanna go off sleeping soon. :P But I'll read later.

Anyway, we both just watched this movie. Most of the things shown in it are things we know about already - Alector already saw most footage from a tape she got after donating money to an animal sanctuary in Bavaria, Germany.

But still, this is why we're both veggies (which is hypocritical, I know, considering we sometimes eat locally-produced eggs and organic dairy products) and try to keep our impact down. I do have pets too, but they're all rescued or were unwanted as kittens/puppies. One even chose to live with us. :P But we treat them all with respect and have commitments to them for as long as they live. The cats even have so much freedom, they choose when they want to eat.

But back on topic. In the end though, I am human. We are human. I know that no matter what I do, I'll always be part of the problem. Part of the parasite eating away at the Earth, exploiting all the other species. A good solution would be for us to change our ways, but because of our selfish and destructive nature, the likelihood of that happening is next to zero. People won't want to live without causing some kind of impact. So the more realistic solution, and a solution I've been thinking about for a long time, is complete human extinction. This means me. This means my loved ones. This means you too.

"What goes around, comes around", they said. "We reap what we sow", they also said. I just wonder when that'll happen.

Also, thanks to Judith for posting this vid in various for people to see - Hopefully it'll be a real eye opener for many people. Or it'll show human ignorance.
