I went without my phone for under an hour the other day. Oh my god jesus christ that was horrible.
I hate being dependant on such technology... |

We weren't allowed cellphones in class, but we were allowed them at school. Heaps of people still used them in class, which actually annoyed me, because I didn't. I don't really like obsessive texting at all though, and can go quite a while without texting. I mainly use it to organise stuff, not conversations.

At my old school, phones were not allowed for the first year of my attendance. Then our headmaster, probably one of the greatest headmasters in the country, accepted that no dam would never stand against the mobile tsunami, and that there was indeed an advantage. So he permitted them in the school with the obvious rules: they must be turned off during class. If one goes off during lessons or is otherwise used then they are onfiscated, and it's not easy getting it back (coming back after hours, perhaps with a parent or guardian to claim it). The teachers were always behind him on this sort of thing, a team that students could not beat, should they have the audacity to try.
There wee exceptions. Using the camera to record experiments or images was sometimes appropriate. DT Product Design was quite laid back and had us all over the school using various facilities, and we did call one another to summon people back when they were required. |
Today i forgot to put my phone on silent and my mum rang me in class 3 times lucky my ring tone is quiet.
|
Why would someone's mum phone them when they know they're in school? I still don't understand this.
|
My mums just thick. I bet her IQ is 5.
|
And of course I bet you know so much more than her about maintaining a household, bringing up a daughter, paying the bills etc etc.
|
Yer but i have to help her.
|
Tell us how you help her, other than putting the bills from the mail into a pile. Mabye you do the dishes?
I must be one of the only people in the world who likes their parents and always has done. |
:
However, for all their faults, I've always loved them. Alcar... |
Yes i do, do the dishs, clean the home, pick up the dog poop, pick up the cat poop and all that stuff.
|
I'm going to go out on a limb and say you do these things less out of the goodness of your heart and more out of the fact you have some kind of financial arrangement with your mother.
|
Out of both.
