The problem I have with piracy, torrents and P2P networks is that more people need to use it! I can't always find the files I want! Argh!

I have acquired music online, mainly via my brother. However, that is usually enough to get me buying the disc to see what else they have done.

There is something satisfying about exchanging money in a financial transaction and receiving your desired goods in return. You just don't get that illegally.

Mojo 01-21-2008 02:11 PM

No, but it costs a hell lot less.

Just imagine in the future when we'll be able to download alcohol.torrent streams. I fear I'll be long gone, though.

That and a tiered Internet.

In the future, the creepy future,

HordesOfNanoVikings 01-21-2008 05:07 PM

ghost you are creepy

Havoc 01-21-2008 05:54 PM

I just know he means it too. Ghost would love nothing more then a 14 year old girl with big slimy tentacles just sliming and slippering away in his pants with one of those tentacles going up his you know what.

Don't be ashamed Ghost! Share your vision.

I was going to post that you llamagoose!

The way I understand it so far is that the record labels get money according to how many times a track from an artist is played. http://www.qtrax.com/

I'm pretty skeptical about it myself.

Nate 01-29-2008 07:06 AM

And they get the money from non-intrusive ads? I have doubts about this myself.

Song: Umbrella
Singer: RhiFORDanna
Genre: PoMCDONALDSp
and so one and so forth until this is funny.

Hah, apparantly none of the labels have even signed to it yet. They're jumping the gun a bit, aren't they?

I thought it was funny, Nate.

Havoc 01-29-2008 12:04 PM

Didn't it say that three big record labels had already signed on? Including Universal Records?

Alcar 01-29-2008 12:21 PM

They said they had, but in actuality none of the major record labels have signed it yet. They've essentially shot themselves in the foot.
