Sigur Ros, Aphex Twin, Placebo, and Matisyahu are all good. I think Primus or some of the guys in it made some song called Mr. Oysterhead I heard on the radio a while ago, that I thought was strangley captivating. Right now I've been pretty much focused on the bands Grizzly Bear, Parenthetical Girls, and Ribbons. Also at a local club last weekend I saw this guy Adrian Orange play. Pretty sweet.

Salamander 09-30-2007 08:07 PM

As of late, Muse and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have piqued my interest.

Mac Sirloin 10-01-2007 07:46 AM

Bob Marley, I forgot about him, apologies.

I need an album. I only have the audible scraps from my sisters computer.

Strike Witch 10-02-2007 04:01 PM

That sounds better. I just plucked mine out of the air. I'm back by the way everyone. *bans*

Also; Kast, for Bob Marley the legend compilation is very good. If not, then get Exodus. Amazing.

I have this on preorder!

Surprisingly enough, thanks to my friend, hip-hop has pulled me in with it's slimy, decaying tentacles and is torturing me to the point of insanity. But I'm working on quitting.

[toxicity] I've heard Coheed and Cambria. Not bad, though I found the singer's voice slightly annoying. That's just me though.

Leto 10-04-2007 08:17 PM

Coheed equals gay + an awesome drummer. An hiphop isn't completely horrible, only about 75%.

Here are some random bands for anyone to parooooooze:

Dalek (Experimental Hiphop)
Adai (Progressive Post metal) with a fucking weird sounding singer)
Tunturia (Post rock)
Lollipop Factory (Queen + Rocky Horror Picture Show + metal, in a band format)
Raein (Screamo)
edIT (Hiphop/IDM)
Xeltrei (Beautiful ambient pianothings)
Wixel (very chillout ambient)

Now other people post lists to show they're as bored as me.

Mac Sirloin 10-05-2007 02:19 PM

I liked coheed and Cambria, but ll the emos ruined it,.

Rush, anyone? Our constitution (Written by Matt and Greg, Canadas constitution writyers) says that I have to mention it.

Rush ftw. I'm saddened that I won't see them play Wembley next week:(

Rupture Farms 10-06-2007 05:36 AM

I'm into various bands, of various genres:
System of a Down, David Bowie, Cradle of Filth, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mr. Bungle, Dimmu Borgir, Faith No More, Dethklok and Fantomas.

The last album that I hadn't heard before I bought, was:
http://www.rockdetector.com/assets/i...ers/201019.jpg
in late 2006..

As of late, David Bowie - Aladdin Sane (his best work).

Leto 10-07-2007 12:58 AM

I've said it in a previous thread, but I've always considered Low and Heroes his best albums.

Behold... the Arctopus, Dsrthythmia or Psyopus anyone? If so, you techmetallers you.

I really don't like Low. I think it's far too overrated, and I only like about 2 songs. Most of it's just too hard to get into.

Heroes is a good album though, but the track "Heroes" is the only brilliant song I can remember at the moment. I'm sure there's more..

Leto 10-07-2007 01:13 AM

Then that album is not for you, as it has ambient influence (Brian Eno to blame). But my favourite track from David Bowie is Subterraeneans, beautiful track it be.

Heroes has Joe the Lion, Blackout and Neukoln are the highlights of the album, at least in my opinion.

Yeah, well I liked some of the ambient tracks. But I prefered Heroes' songs, because dare I say it, they were easier to listen to. And yes, they sounded beautiful.

His best album ever, is usually considered, "Ziggy Stardust". And it is in someways, but in terms of powerful, fun, refreshing hard rock, then Aladdin Sane is the way to go.

Hunky Dory is also just as good, but I'm a little sick of it. The Man Who Sold the World is very, very underrated. (Saviour Machine).

Well, that's David Bowie summed up. I'm glad to meet another fan! :D

OANST 10-07-2007 09:25 AM

I remember loving Aladdin Sane and Outside. It's been a while, though.

Mac Sirloin 10-07-2007 09:59 AM

Hell yeah. When i'm in the mood Slayer makes me want to smash some faces in. War Ensemble ftw

OANST 10-07-2007 11:13 AM

Have I ever mentioned that Modest Mouse is great? 'Cause they are.

Mac Sirloin 10-07-2007 02:24 PM

Indeed, Modest Mouse is the music I use for long car trips when I am -1 PSP.

Very calming, but at the same time, well, various things.

OANST 10-07-2007 02:28 PM

This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about.

My favorite album.

Mac Sirloin 10-07-2007 02:37 PM

Good name, too.

I only have the relics on my elder sisters computer, I must purcahse an album post-haste.

Oh, and Fascismile, if you ever read this thread, I have gotten myself a SoaD album, so I am not that low anymore.

Rupture Farms 10-07-2007 05:01 PM

Slayer rule. *starts headbanging to South of Heaven*

Mac Sirloin 10-07-2007 08:39 PM

Don't be praising me quite yet, it was a used copy, though new copies of Toxicity are hard to come by.

Anyway That guy who does the music for the madness seies.

Hobo 10-07-2007 11:25 PM

Toxicity is gold. GOLD! SWEET SWEET GOLD

Leto 10-08-2007 12:36 AM

Over here there is about 10,000,00 copies of Toxcitiy firsthand just about everywhere, at the Warehouse for like $15 NZD.

Rupture Farms 10-08-2007 05:16 PM

System of a Down's best album is Mezmerize. Their self-titled debut is almost as good, and so is Hypnotize. Toxicity, although an album of pure genius, is extremely overrated. Steal This Album! is probably their worst. :D

:flames: Mike Patton is a god. :flames:
Mr. Bungle is easily his best project. :D
