Really? Wow, I think I'll buy this, thanks Max and Judith! :)

Matriar 07-11-2007 10:35 AM

No problem. Do you have a credit card?

Jordan 07-11-2007 01:22 PM

Nah, but my grandma has one, and I always use it for eBay and stuff.
But I can't see my mum letting me buy it, I won't be able to convince her it'll change currency on Paypal. Oh well...

"Oddworld Stranger's Wrath Soundtrack" To Be Released

"A fantastic soundtrack...!"
Gaming Age

New York, July 9th, 2007— Oddworld Inhabitants and composer Michael Bross are pleased to announce the upcoming soundtrack release of the music from "Oddworld Stranger's Wrath", the critically acclaimed game published by EA in 2005.

With Nettwerk Music Group (Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne, Barenaked Ladies, Electronic Arts) handling digital distribution, the soundtrack will contain over 50 tracks across two separate volumes. Volume 1's release date is July 30, 2007 while Volume 2 will be released at a future date (to be announced).

Lorne Lanning, Oddworld's co-founder, had this to say about the soundtrack, "It was inevitable that Michael's amazing musical and sound design contribution to our series would one day find its way to fans as an experience unto itself. Well, finally, here it is! I've had the pleasure of listening to this music on my iPod, by the pool, and in my car for years. Finally, now the fans can too."

Taking time specifically for the release, Bross remixed some of the tracks to enhance clarity and depth. It was then mastered at Stephen Marsh Mastering (Los Lobos, Fiona Apple, Incubus) in Hollywood, CA by Stephanie Villa.

"The game was an important project to me, and I'm delighted to finally see the music released in soundtrack form," Bross states.

The soundtrack will be available through digital stores such as iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic and Napster. The CD version will be available from the composer's site at www.bross.com and also Amazon.

Jordon, you are commited to a debit card via your parent's bank. You are old enough for one, so why not?

Wil 07-13-2007 11:51 AM

1. It's Jordan. ;) 2. Are 13 year olds allowed credit cards?

Ooh, it looks purty. :)

Gabiar 07-14-2007 07:38 AM

JordAn: No, DEBIT cards. You are old enough for one, you just need to ask you parents. All depends what bank they are with. The best could be Barclays, yorkshire bank, etc. PM me if you want more info.

I might buy this, depending on price!

Xavier 07-15-2007 12:46 AM

I'm soooooooo going to buy this
15 more days to wait :D

Matriar 07-17-2007 10:32 PM

And 12 days from now on. For me, 32 days.

I ordered the soundtrack to be send to Switzerland where I live, so that I can I can look forward to come back there from my exchange at least because of one good reason.

I feel like I'm gonna rue that choice of mine. 32 days. I'm gonna go mad!

Mine arrived in the post today with a personally written message from Michael, which is a nice touch. I'll listen to it at work tonight and get back to you tomorrow.

The return address was from "Deep Lever", which makes it sound like I'm mail-ordering something else entirely...

Al the Vykker 07-30-2007 08:49 PM

I'll definately have to order this since I never use itunes, nor do I think this will be distributed that way at all.

Listened to it last night at work and it certainly perked me up in an otherwise boring shift. Though it was a bit distracting at times when I kept trying to work out which part of the game each track was from.

There's some really great stuff on there. It's quite a long album too - 73 minutes. It's amazing how many different styles of music are on the one album. My favourite bits were definately the native/Grubb tracks.

I'd definately recommend everyone to go to Michael Bross' site and buy a copy. Buy a few more for family and friends - they might not get the significance of the album but they'll still like the music. ;)

Listening to it at work now, it's fantastic! :)

What's great about it is that I can see it being used successfully as mood music at my house as well, - similar to the AO and AE's background music. Two uses in one!

Buying a copy right now! I love game OST's!

EDIT: Great music! Love it :D

Got mine off amazon as soon as it came out. Before I was listening to the few MP3's OWI had on their website...this is so much better. Can't wait for volume 2.
