*Waits for inevitable comments about how Evil Bush will ruin the planet and he is not commited to space travel and rants about Iraq*

If my memory serves me correctly, he pushed for another moon landing followed by a moon base and mars landing. Only he didn't increase NASA's funding enough so they've had to kill off the Hubble Telescope. Boo. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/en/doc/...ent_299037.htm |
In that case..
*Puts on leftist hat* But Bush, the pResident THIEF, only wants the Moon and Mars because his own world has been polluted by his corporatist buddies. And what's this nonsense about Hubble, mr Bush? Too many weekends with your ZOG masters? The CHIMP only wants the Moon to draw attention away from what a terrible job the US is doing in Iraq! Stupid little chicken mamma's boy won't even increase funding too much, the little wuss. Everyone knows the people and the world at large hate America and Israel and that stupid CHIMP. Sieg Moral Equivalationism! Islam Uber Allies! *Takes off leftist hat* |
I see they make leftist hats out of Aluminium foil these days.

And I beleive rightist hats are fashionably pink fedoras.
Life on another planet, eh? I'm pretty sure they've known us about quite awhile, but after seeing people like us, they decided it'd be best to study us, but not show themselves. Lest they all becoming drooling, babling baboons like most of us. |
No, rightist hats look like this;
http://i10.tinypic.com/351wxmx.jpg To be honest, I pity that guy a little. In the same sort of way I pity Herbert the pervert from Family Guy. |
There is no doubt in my mind that there is life outside our planet, solar system, galaxy, etc. To be so naive and geocentric to think otherwise is just sad...the Universe itself implies limitless possibilities and of course the unknown, maybe that's what scares us that we aren't in control.

That's exactly the reason we have religion, right there.

I definitely believe that there is life on other planets, but I'm not completely convinced that the particular planet mentioned could sustain life. Even if it has earth-like traits, it may just turn out to be another barren wasteland, for all we know.
|
Absolutely. The point is that it is the most promising world we have discovered so far.
