Of course not but it does mean that he prefers men over women, meaning his primary orientation is gay and his secondary is straight to put it in simple terms.

Mutual Friend 04-23-2007 12:15 PM

Oh my god, I've started a thread without starting one.

:

Bisexual people are not necessarily attracted equally to both genders.

:

bisexuals may feel pressured to label themselves as either gays or lesbians instead of occupying a difficult middle ground in a culture that has it that if bisexuals are attracted to people of both sexes, they must have more than one partner, thus defying society's value on monogamy.
:

In the mid-1950s, Alfred Kinsey devised the Kinsey scale in an attempt to measure sexual orientation. The 7 point scale has a rating of 0 ("exclusively heterosexual") to 6 ("exclusively homosexual"). Bisexuals cover most of the scales' values (1-5) which ranges between "predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual" (1) to "predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual" (5). In the middle of the scale (3) is "equally heterosexual and homosexual".

I wouldn't consider Kinsey a reliable source. He used prison inmates and prostitutes as his test samples.

Oh, don't forget the molested babies, Patrick. How could you forget the molested babies? I know I haven't.:D

I shouldn't consider Kinsey a reliable source for the sexuality scale that he himself came up with?

Nate 04-23-2007 04:32 PM

Kinsey's research was quite flawed and his theories are questionable at best.

Bullet Magnet 04-23-2007 04:59 PM

The only quote that came from his research is the one in which he is mentioned.

Patrick Vykkers 04-23-2007 09:26 PM

Stattik HDM; For the record, I support gay/lesbian/bisexual rights. I simply object to the use of flawed and unethical research for any cause.
Bullet Magnet; Kinsey is certainly a reliable source on his own scale, but not on human sexuality. He is no more reliable on that topic than that right wing whacko Paul "Exterminate gays in next 5 years" Cameron.

I don't care about gender. it just tells you how many holes you have to work with.

It's almost as though a person may have... two sexualities!

I vote we call this strange new form of physical attraction bisexuality!

Mutual Friend 04-25-2007 03:34 PM

I... disagree with this notion.

Lets call it ByseXuality and get all the kids hooked on it.

But not in a creepy way.

Patrick Vykkers 04-25-2007 04:29 PM

Kids don't have sexualities. Unless you count that disturbing as hell 11 year old sex thread.

Mutual Friend 04-25-2007 04:35 PM

Maybe you didn't.

Bullet Magnet 04-25-2007 04:37 PM

Those kids weren't even 11, they were older kids in a class of 11 year olds because they had been held back.
