Ok not all online games are evil, I assume Everquest is though I never really played it so I can't say, FFXI is truly evil.
WoW is a awesome game and I don't mind paying for so much fun, if there was a Oddworld MMORPG I would be on that thing every day paying what ever.

Any game that robs innocent gamers of their soul as well as their money is evil. Have you seen what happens to some of the people who play these games? Some of them lose their significant others, their jobs, and even their homes because of their addiction. It's completely pathetic.

I don't have a problem with WoW. I just have a problem with self righteous people who actualy think they have made a difference in someone's life when they have never even met them. Well, since I'm still living with my parents for obvious reasons, and I care about getting a decent night's sleep, I'm not really the kind of person who will spend all night trying to finish that elusive quest. Sure, I'm addicted, but not like that kind of addiction.

But overall in this thread, I agree the most with Snuzi. Some people get so obsessed with WoW that they get the point where they have no life. Plus, it's a dumb game IMO, and you have to play forever to level up so the game actually starts getting fun. I only like the games where skill is the primary factor to how well you do in the game, not how long you sit on your ass leveling up. It's sad that the game is like a second life, and you have to manage it so much, and it makes you think you're interacting with people and making friends.

Exactly. It's totally overrated.

Precisely. You spend more time leveling up in these types of games than actually playing them. It's basically like this: You start off with a weak character, and all you think is "Oh man, as soon as I get to level 20, I'll be able to unlock all this cool shit! Who knows what abilities will become available to me?". Then, when you reach that level, you say "Man, this was freaking awesome, but as soon as I reach level 30, I'll unlock this and that, and become even more powerful!". This process becomes repetative, and you end up spending nearly all of your time leveling up, and wondering what the next level will get you. It's pointless. No matter what, you'll never be at a level at which your content. there will always be a distant level that you'll want to achieve.

So, basically, you're never content when playing this game. There's always something better just beyond your reach, causing you to spend hours and hours of your life pointlessly, in order to make you believe that something might just be reachable.

That kind of boring crap is why I hate the middle part of RPGS. And partially why I quit Runescape.

Oh yes, I have so many things to like about myself, what with my clinical depression and my inability to uphold a friendship for more than two years.
Oh, and lets not forget the fact that I've never had a real love life and that I probably never will! Add that to the issues I've had with family and friends dying/killing themselves, and it's a wonder why I haven't placed myself up at the "Right hand of God" title.
