Mosaic Lines...thats all to say. :P

Goresplatter 10-13-2006 01:17 PM

By "Living on Oddworld" I assume you mean as one of the Inhabitants? If so it really depends what creature I would be. If I had a choice, no question to being a Slig. Being a Slig, I'd live in Slig Barracks for a bit to get some training, then try get a beat in the mosaic lines - nice scenery, and a nap pretty much whenever you want one. I mean, it's not all that dangerous unless the odd Mudokon Savior comes and annihalates you. Then, this assuming I'm not in one of the places with the infinite loud falling rocks that come from the sky... speaking of which, possible explanations anyone?

Bullet Magnet 10-13-2006 01:30 PM

I dunno. Being a slig would be a shock to the system, as any amputee would tell you.

As for the rocks: it is quite obvious that some sort of hocus pocus is involved. Or quantum. Yes, it's always quantum. Damn you, undeterminability!

ANGRY ELEPHANT 10-17-2006 02:53 PM

After years of living in Paramonia,I'd get addicted to brew, and I'd live at Alf's rehab and tea for a few weeks until Alf kicked me out,so I'd take a long journey and settle in a grubb village.

ODD-BOD 11-01-2006 06:00 AM

necrum is the best place i think cause' the beatiful high trees and it is rather abandoned.

if not then yeah paramonia is a good choice.

magic9mushroom 11-02-2006 04:59 PM

Necrum is not abandoned. There are Fleeches. You would die in agony at being compressed and digested.

Al the Vykker 11-02-2006 06:53 PM

It would depend on a few factors. Seeing how we havent visited these "Cities" hinted at a while back by Lorne. But I'd have to say Paramonia or Mosiac Lines. Somewhere peaceful and serene.

Oh yeah fogot about that, paramonia it is then. lol

Oddsville 11-03-2006 04:10 AM

Its really hard to say, but I would have to go with Paramonia. I love the woodland look of it and just the general feel. I'd have to go with Necrum second seince it has a tropical feel for me.:)

Bullet Magnet 11-03-2006 04:27 AM

I would go to Nolybab and start up my own creative videogame and film company called Earthly Inhabitants.

magic9mushroom 11-08-2006 02:56 PM

LOL!!! OMG that is so laughable!

Psychonaut 11-10-2006 01:40 PM

I wold like to live in industrial city, like Setco Springs...I love it...

Matriar 11-10-2006 01:44 PM

Woah, really not my kind of taste that industrial stuff... but who cares. :)

I guess would find a little, peaceful home in the nature-orientated places in the western mudos. I love forests. :)

Psychonaut 11-10-2006 02:20 PM

I am a real industrialist,:) And i love forests too

Arxryl 11-10-2006 04:12 PM

Yeah. I'd only live in the industrial areas for a little while to get some music/clothes/ and maybe a backpack. Then I'd go out and travel the world.

_GrubHunter_ 11-11-2006 11:38 PM

Of course I will choose Wolvark Docs! I love this place, and i'm industrialist :)

Alcar 11-12-2006 12:24 AM

In order of preference:
  1. Paramonia
  2. Native Village
  3. Necrum

For the obvious reasons, that I prefer scenic and peaceful places if I were to have to spend my life as a Mudokon (Humans don't exist on Oddworld!).

Alcar...

Admiral Pelaeon 11-16-2006 11:35 AM

Witness the power of the Empire!

I'd like to be the commander of Galactic Empire's oddworld invasion force, the sith lord and have an Executor-class dreadnaught and several common destroyers under my command. I'll ally myself with mudokons and give them weapons to sabotage glukkon's facilities for the bame of the Empire. Also I'll bomb Slig Barracs to the ground from orbit. Legions of Imperial troopers and AT-AT's will deploy from giant Acclamator troop transports and terminate glukkon forces. Also Wykkers labs should be destroyed through orbital bombardment. As for natives, Empire will support them and won't harm nature because planets with breathable air are rare and should be cared about.

Arxryl 11-16-2006 11:38 AM

But then the GLukkons would soon build a rebellion force and take out your ship and then things would be funky for a while.

And also, where exactly would you live?

Admiral Pelaeon 11-16-2006 11:50 AM

I would definitely live in Paramonia... but with some AK-47 assault rifle. It's beautiful place with favourable climate but a bit dangerous.

It's off-topic, but what do you think about Galactic Empire's
(Star Wars) invasion in Oddworld. I think Empire would't oppress mudokons and ruin nature because it's not wise to spoil a planet with breathable atmosphere. It will fight glukkons to gain control over the planet. And a taskforce will be composed of Executor-class star dreadnaught, 5 Imperator-class star destroyers, 5 Acclamator trans-galactic troop transports.

No sh*t! Firstly glukkons would be unable to battle Imperial fleet, they are not a space-going race! Secondly If the things would be out of control Empire would execute order "Base-Delta-Zero" and turn Oddworld surface into lifeless desert through total orbital bombardment.

Arxryl 11-16-2006 01:39 PM

Alright...For one, please don't double post. Edit your original one.
Secondly I just said that out of respect for the story line of the original Star wars trilogy, unless you already forgot it. I wasn't actually saying that the Gukkons would start a rebellion. if anything they'd try to work out trade with the Galactic empire to secure their wealth.
Thirdly, I thought you said that they wouldn't harm oddworld because it has a breathable atmosphere and is lush with wildlife.

I don't want to get into a fight, I was just explaining why I said what I said.

Zebulon 11-27-2006 07:28 AM

dude...paramonia.

Da Big-Cheese 12-04-2006 11:55 AM

In Slig Barracks in my own tent or bunker, or Monsaic Temples in a hovel somewhere.

snuzi 12-04-2006 01:11 PM

I'd like to live in Vykker's Labs. I'd love to hang out with some Interns there :p

glokstar 12-07-2006 01:27 PM

i would organize a secret squad of small stingy creatures on the top of Vykkers Labs, breed them and on a command id tell my creatures to sting the Vykkers ship untill the air comes out which holds it up. than, when its falling and im falling with it, id say:

"Oh, sh*t! I forgot about this part!" :p

joking aside i would probably live in Paramonia like most of us (we could already establish a city there u know:p)

someone brought up the great question i was thinking of: what creature would i be? i would be a not-so-evil Vykker if there is such. not because im so found of Vykkers but because i believe they are the most equipped creatures. with all those hands, fast feet, and brain the size of a planet i think i would manage to live in Paramonia and defend myself. but than there is the fact that Vykkers have poor sensory system... oh well. all OW creatures have their obvious weakness.

Aside (sorry for off topic): ever wondered why its not Vykkers on the top of the hyerarchy ladder but glukkons?

Nate 12-07-2006 02:03 PM

Glukkons are not above Vykkers. As suppliers of consumer products, they're both at approximately the same level . That said, the Oddworld political landscape is a rather complicated heirarchy.

I like your stinging idea but for one thing: Vykkers labs is not a hot air (or helium) balloon - it's a good old flying saucer propelled by unknown physics. But if you can get wasps with pneumatic stings, that could still work.

glokstar 12-07-2006 03:21 PM

i actually suspected that. it was a joke :) but i mean imagine the picture of abe or munch just sitting around up there waiting to get enough stinging creatures and telling them to start stinging... i dunno i find it halarious.

as for the glukkon vs vykker discussion, even though glukkons are my favorit characters i still find it rather strange that vykkers are not high above them in rank... i dunno may be im just a pain in the back parts, whatever.

god! sorry, i drove this thread off topic completely. back to the original question: Where would you live?

Err, yeah it is. Maybe not in the conventional, Earthly sense, but it’s suspended in the air by gas, just like pods, blimps and dropships are.

glokstar 12-07-2006 04:35 PM

honestly, i dont think it is really the point weather it is airship or sacer. :p

Arxryl 12-07-2006 04:40 PM

No but some things should be cleared up for anyone who may read these posts later.

Hmm.... after thinking for a while, I'd probably want to move somewhere like the Mongo river or a Mudokon settlement.
