Khanzumers are the only truely evil beings on Oddworld. Glukkons, Wolvarks, Vykkers, they're all victims of circumstance and their own evolution. They are different cultures with different values, and are not inherently evil. Khanzumers are evil. I interpret this to mean they are selfish, greedy and lazy despite not having any reason to (Glukkons are greedy because they need to pay their rent). They're Oddworld's version of Earth's consumers. We're all too happy to drive gas-guzzlers or book cheap flights if it'll get us from A to B faster and more comfortably; we'll look for the cheapest goods on the market without considering the œconomic and environmental consequences their mass production is causing elsewhere in the world.

Now if that's true, then I don't see them as being insanely rich or politically powerful. I can't see them struggling to keep up their mortgage payments, either. To me, they seem to embody the worst qualities of the upper and lower classes combined.

It's true that they are probably based on the greedy human consumer society, but that doesn't really make them evil. Think about humans today, the whole of our species used to be fairly decent and hardworking, but over time, technology became better at fullfilling our needs until it became ingrained into our society itself. Humans today aren't 'evil,' they're just going with the flow of today's world. They're on a train they can't stop and that's probably the same case with khanzumerz.

So they're complacent, lazy and unmotivated, too selfish to put an objective viewpoint above their own needs. Glukkons and Sligs and Vykkers and Outlaws have all evolved under such circumstances that explain their behaviour - it's just their way of life. Khanzumers have given up any struggle against consumerism, the difference being they've never needed to lead that life to survive.

Khanzumers have been described as the only true evil on Oddworld by OWI. I'm just exploring the possible explanations of that description.

All information on the Khanzumerz we have are cryptic at best. They twist and turn. But then, it is the same with most aspects of Oddworld, no matter how much info we have.

One thing I think it worth noting is that they are probably carniverous. Scrab cakes? Elum chubs? All meat products. If the Kanzhumers would eat it, they'd probly mash forest into some sort of biscuit, like those Rice Crispies one or something.
