I would rather see a movie honestly instead of a game, but really I can only imagine what he would think of some of our topics like socks yay or nay lol
lol I would rather see a game made better that MO and SW.

And I don't give a damn that you don't like Evanescence (and so should you for that I like them (and I will clear it out for you, so you understand what I am reffering to this time: that you shouldn't give a damn that I like Ev, so just don't say it when it wasn't asked! ), but I didn't ask anyone if they liked Evanescence, I just said that I know that the bandmembers come to that particular forum once in a while, and that is what Lorne might do too. Ps. And sorry for this so offtopic post mods, but some people asked for it. Well, the last scentence is a bit ontopic :p |
I personally doubt Lorne is a memebr. But if he is.... *looks over shoulder. *Says, "they're on to you!"
If he is, then he must be close to commiting suicide because of that "Who Other Than Me Hates Munch" thread. I read in one of the interviews ( (c)TOA) that he couldn't sleep at night hearing criticism for the game of AO. Imagine what happened when he found out that a whole bunch of people hated the entire MO game.
yeah but thats AO, i mean i'm sure he is proud of MO but i was watching this show one time like on G4 or something and he was pretty much like apologizing like MO missed the mark or something he is probaly use to hearing criticism about that game more than any of the others they did, i don't know why i thought it was as good as stranger

When I talked with him about Munch, he sounded disappointed more than anything. I know Lorne had more in mind for MO than what ended up being rushed out there, and it's a real shame that the vision changed so much from the initial videos we were seeing for the PS2 tests to what ended up being the MO as we know it today, whether it was due to the Microsoft switchover, some change in viewpoints, catoring to another audience, not enough time or a combination of all of these things. Artists and writers are often unhappy with their own work, especially when starting out with very high expectations. I think he knew that it ended up falling short of what he wanted, and it's a shame that we never got a Munch's Exoddus that could have made up for the shortcomings that he saw in MO. Maybe someday we will get that game.
However, for now, I am thrilled that there is a movie in future sights. I was talking with my boyfriend at length over the prospect, and we agree that, if the marketing is handled well, and this is done right, Abe's Oddysee could be a fantastic movie in its own right, and not just as a "video game movie". I think they need to market it not as an exclusive fiction that you have to be knee-deep in already as a fan to appreciate, but to an audience that has yet to fall in love with the Oddworld we all did when we were first introduced. There's a certain magic in the moment of discovery that's entirely lost when the teaser is full of remarks like, "From the hit award-winning series of video games", or "Continuing the Oddworld legacy" or whatever. I hope others can find in Oddworld what I did when I heard Abe's voice for the first time, you know? Yeah, I got off topic a bit, sorry about that, but I couldn't help myself. I'm excited at the potential resurfacing of Oddworld and Lorne. :) |

Whaddya mean? I liked Munch's Oddysee! Just the majority of people didn't like it. Not all people hate it. |
:
It was a bad idea to go to movies at this point. Not after two consecutive failures in the gaming industry.
:
Yes.
But who knows. Twelve Monkey's was a pretty strange movie but it did enormously well, and on a low budget. |
I think he won't leave the games buisness forever. He is bound to make more games if the fans demand them.
If the movie does well then he will get confidence back and money. so he will start making games again.
I don't really like criticising Lorne, he's made the 6 games, and people should be happy about that, they should be patient when he isn't making games for a while, and should look forward to the movies that are coming, if they are a load of bull crap, then we criticise!!

Maybe oddworld adventures 1 and 2.
Those were Gameboy ports. Odd knows the reasoning behind that decision, but it was left to another developer to make them, following OWI's story loosely and using their art as well.
Yeah, I meant Oddworld Adventures 1 and 2, do they count as proper games?
:
yes, that's the idea... and if I remember well thoses were barely supervised by lorne an co
MO GBA's version was more supervised |
:
yes it is... I tryed to play it and I just couldn't go much longer after the first level because it was too boring
:
I thought the Gameboy Munch was released on the Advanced?
Yes, it was, but the graphics do look pretty bad, I've never played it before, but it does actually look boring, but an Oddworld game is an Oddworld game, and if I had it I'd still try and complete it.
I heard that Munch's slow hopping gait was even more apparent and annoying in the GBA version than the XBox original.
