Made in China :D.

I am chinese born. Came to here and become English. Ma got a better job here in England then moved to Scotland. Parents opened a resturant. Ma droped her job as secretary on fashion. Scottish now I guess:confused: Think I'll stick to English!!

I know you didnt ask for life story. But I thought the concept of it was pretty empty

Actually, your three line story sounds a bit interesting. I thought stories like that of immigration and adapting to the new land were cool.

Southeastern United States.

American.

German/Irish ancestry. A little bit of Cherokee Indian, but not nearly enough to really "count."

The history of my surname suggests my paternal lineage ‘originated’ in Gloucestershire and moved gradually towards London before we become the second Bunce family in Norfolk when my dad was a nipper.

But more comprehensively speaking, I'm just plain haven't-discovered-anything-else-in-me British. I consider myself a Citizen of the World, anyway.

Australian born

My mother was born in Australia to Hungarian parents - her father came before the war from Transylvania (now part of Romania) and her mother was going to come until war broke out and travel was cancelled. So she joined him after the war ended and got married.

During the war she and her sister hid out using the papers of their non-Jewish friends and got a job at a munitions factory in Budapest. One day one of those friends applied for a job at the factory and the nazi foreman realised what was going on and got ready to have them arrested and sent to a concentration camp. As fate would have it my great-aunt was sick on that day and my grandmother stayed home to take care of her. She was sick for three days and on the third day the Russians conquered Hungary and saved them!

I'll write about my father's side another time.

Abecrazy 06-18-2006 09:25 AM

While I was born in Minnesota in the US of A my ancestrage include mostly Irish with a wee bit of English and a tad Native American. I don't look the least bit Native American but if you look at a picture of my Nan you can see it (she's a half breed).
I think The Exoddus is the same as me cept his father is part Russian too.

"I espected some people to say,

Not all Americans are uncouth and not all Americans are stupid overly proud rednecks. Of course I can speak only for myself...unfortunatly my dad is one of the above. He drives me nuts!

SeaRex...I hear ya on the native american point. Too bad we don't get any money or scholorships for college. *pout*

Russian? Wow, i adore the Russian accent. It's really lush.

Ahem...Just because I said I'm Russian doesn't mean that I have an accent. Most people don't even realize that I'm not American until I tell them. Or so they say.

About the stereotype of Americans...I pretty much agree there, though I admit I do feel a tad out of place when I see ice cream in red, white and blue.

Abeguy 06-18-2006 01:45 PM

the Jewish came from my moms side. so make that 1/3 Irish 1/3 Swiss 1/3 whatever my mom came from, which includes Jewish

continued...

My father's parents were Polish. His mother escaped to Russia at the beginning of the war and was recruited into the Red Army as a nurse. Towards the end of the war she was stationed in my Grandfather's town. One day she was in a tailors store and after an attractive young gentleman left she heard the tailor say "Bloody Jew, Hitler should have killed them all!". This surprised her as she'd been under the impression that he had. So she followed my grandfather home and started stalking him, first becoming friends with his sister (the only one to survive) and eventually getting her claws into him. :D

So anyway, they were married in a Displaced Person's camp in Germany, where my father was born and then got on a ship to Australia when he was one.

Yes it is true I am part Sioux but I came to find out I wasn't as much as I though, I am mostly German and Luxembourgish which make up 5/8 of my ancestry. I am also a 1/32 Russian unless Pavolna isn't Russian and Kiev isn't in Russia (which it is). In WW1 I had ancestors on both sides...at the same battle, same thing with the Revolutionary war. But what is more intresting is the German WWI part, because it was in this battle my 18 year-old American great great grandfather was wounded and taken into care as a "hostage" but was apperently treated quite well by the Germans. But it was my other German great great grandfather who saved him in no mans land, and that is how his son ended up marrying my American great great grandfathers daughter. I could trace some of my ancestry back some total of 600 years, and found out I was related to all kinds of neat people, like the brother of Captain Kidd, directly to Albretch von Durer, the German painter, Lord Mayor of London (Thomas Adams I think, 1600 something) The Duchy of Luxembourg, Archbishop of Worms and other stuff I could bore you with

PS I working on fixing the signature moderators
PSS Does anyone know anything about Luxembourg? Does it have a mainly German culture or is it a even mix of French and German?

skillya_glowi 06-19-2006 10:08 AM

Interesting story. But Kiev is in Ukraine.

The Shadowman 06-19-2006 02:40 PM

I meant historical Russia not modern day Russia, I should have explained that. By the way did you ever wonder in a battle for Europe would rule? Thats my question who would conquer all

:

Are you English, Scottish, German, Irish, Luxembourgish, Welsh, wolf-ish, etc. Which I am all of the preceeding. Didn't know I was Luxembourgish did you? Even though I live in Maryland you may find it suprising I was not born in the US of A. Where was I born? I was born in...no wait I want you to guess. What family mysteries does your family hold, other then the one about your aunt who shoot your grandfather that are suppose to keep under wraps.

I'm Atroidian.
