Why would you bother converting the PC versions if you have the PSX versions of both games? The PC is a direct conversion which means that the video most likely lost quality in the development. Your best bet is to look for the FMVs from the PSX versions. It's not like the games are any different.

You can select quality output. If you choose to compress it - there's a quality loss. If you choose to save it as an uncompressed .avi - you get a huge filesize. It's up to you, pretty much.

EDIT: MO and SW versions are both for the Xbox. As I don't have an Xbox, there is no way for me to properly scan these discs. My guess is that you are able to extract video from the Xbox discs, but you need to be one hell of a ripper to make it work with MO or SW.

and what if i haven't?i do not have PSX versions of AO and AE - that's the problem...
you should get XBOX and try to scan discs on PC since Oddworld Inhabitants making their games with PC's.it's a challenge for you)

If you don't have it, then I'm not going to be able to help you that much. It's simple logic my friend, I post PSX utilities, thereby you might expect that I only have the PSX versions.

I'm not getting the XBox versions to just potentially be able to scan the discs. That's a waste of money. Also, every game developer uses PCs to create games. That doesn't mean that the games are compatible with computers...

Can't stream munch oddysee from the Xbox, and got the same problem with Devil May Cry 2 from the PS2. So I guess the program isn't called PSX for fun ;).

Also did mgs1 from the psx, I only got a few movies. Not the "ingame" movies.

And a friend of mine tried it with harvest moon, but it wouldn't do it at all.

heh, it's far much better than nothing :)

Yes, got Exoddus working too!. don't know what went wrong yesterday.

If you want, and don't think it will be illegal ofcourse!, I can put them for download an a filestore site. Files would be around 250 mb each then, and for the Exoddus, you need 5 of those. There will be double movies, but I ain't gonna sort it out :), and maybe there is a little difference between then.

Killy 07-18-2006 02:13 PM

There is no difference between the double movies. They're identical and just take up more space.

Now that you mention it, it probably would be illegal to post the FMVs for download. Let me consult with The Powers That Be before you do anything.

Xavier 07-19-2006 10:45 AM

I don't think it would be very legal indeed.
I have nothing against posting screenshots but we have to put a line somewhere.

erwinraaben55 07-19-2006 11:56 AM

Okay, then you never get those Exoddus movies :P

Oh man, this is probobly an ancient thread, and I completely appologize if bumping is not allowed. But just incase someone is searching for this thread and finds no answers. I'd like to give everyone an answer to the .DDV file playing answer.

That's how you make and play .DDV files.

Nate 12-01-2008 03:47 PM

Interesting. It's the software from Digital Dialect to compress and use DDV files. I suspect the price and coding ability is beyond most forumites though.

I tried this a long time ago, and you can indeed view some cutscenes with it.
I think there's a discussion about it somewhere on this forum.
