What wires? Have you seen some pants schematics I haven't?

OK, just use the industrial skin for a sec, then look at the slig at the top. There's a wire going from the mask to the pants. There's one on each side.

Bullet Magnet 05-14-2006 07:22 AM

Oh, that tube. THough that was just a pipe for... well, I don't know what.

magic9mushroom 05-16-2006 03:30 PM

Well it could be an information wire. And maybe the Vykkers developed Bluetooth in AE, then found it didn't work very well and reverted to wires in MO

Xavier 05-17-2006 02:12 AM

I guess, it could be something like that yes :)

OMG :falls down dead with happiness: thanks for the compliment Xav it is appreciated

I believe sligs can move their tails all the way to the tip. Perhaps
the mech legs are connected using nano wires that seep through
the sligs body to connect with a nueral link that connects with the brain. Kind of like how Octavius explained it in that Spider-man 2 movies in the demonstation with the mech arms.

NO no no Spiderman is FICTION and so is what you are describing. I was suggesting something which works

"Nanowires"??

Nate 05-29-2006 05:53 AM

ROFLMAO

Spiderman is fiction and Oddworld is not? Ha!

Spiderman suggests things which are absolutely stupid and non-science. I was suggesting something which is actually feasible as for all we know Oddworld is out there

Xavier 05-29-2006 11:03 PM

lets not start on that, Oddworld has other devices that are non-science ;)

Such as?

Nate 05-31-2006 12:36 AM

Rainmakers, for one.

Mudoko_Jedi 05-31-2006 02:50 AM

lol nate dog is rite tisk tisk tisk rain makers indeed

Wil 05-31-2006 05:05 AM

Oddworld is set in a different reality to Earth. Fact.

Fuzzle Guy 05-31-2006 03:46 PM

:

Pretty neat av, Oddish.

Anyway on a similar note about age, what happens to Sligs when they get too old to work? Do they shoot them or do they fire them?

Yes, they probably do get shot. The Glukkons are all Bar Stewards, they see that everything has to have a purpose to them. Retired species in Oddworld are of no need to them so they would proably kill them and make more room for younger sligs.

Who says Mud psionic abilities can't be explained? Rain can be generated artificially here.

shot them is sooooo unproductive, make them guard very danerous places is so much better, they won't get any older, and the place is garded.

or send them to war

anyway each location with low chances to survive is good.

Mudoko_Jedi 06-01-2006 03:14 AM

yeah stinken sligs i hate them i remember when i was attaked by darth slig and i just survived because i had my trusty odd saber.

Xavier 06-01-2006 03:44 AM

please try to keep that kind of stuff for the rpg section of this forum ;)

Bullet Magnet 06-01-2006 04:00 AM

I do believe that retired sligs (and disgraced sligs) are specially requested by Skillya to help refine her soup recipes.

Xavier 06-01-2006 04:03 AM

makes me think of the movie "the island"... :p
oh you are now old enough to go to "the island" fellow slig come and follow me

WTF????

Xavier 06-01-2006 11:02 PM

not my fault you didn't see it, (actually I didn't see it either, but the plot is revealed in the trailer)

Mudoko_Jedi 06-02-2006 03:59 AM

i meant the darth slig thing as a joke, DUH!

Abeguy 06-02-2006 05:53 AM

my dear magic6mushroom, SHUT UP

the things in spider man actually do make sense, if you took some guys dead arm and fused it to your spine and bloodstream somehow, you would have a third arm. Don't stop there! why not have four!

Yes. Four arms, the perfect number of arms to have:p

Wil 06-02-2006 11:32 AM

Sligs have retirement funds, if I remember correctly. One plan for MO was that you could steal their ATM cards and drain their retirement funds. Perhaps elderly Sligs are allowed to retire because, just like in real life, they become an important sector of the market. Stannah stairlifts, conservatory renovations, knitting needles - or Oddworld's parallels.

used:) 06-02-2006 01:18 PM

Spider Man is more believable than Oddworld.

MM, please explain just how you can make rain and exactly how the Mudokons can make rain. You would tools to generate certain ammounts of moisture, a tool to make an unstable atmosphere, a tool to put low air pressure on the area, and you would need to somehow make two fronts come together to produce rain. All I see is a circle of stones with some Muds chanting around it. Doesn't exactly look like that that can be explained scientifically.

1. It's magic9mushroom
2. I was actually getting up the seeping idea and "neural link" idea, as the nerves to control legs would not be there unless you got a brain implant

3. Who says the Muds don't have extremely advanced brains that generate powerful electric and magnetic fields? and rain can be triggered by silver iodide or similar chemicals

Xavier 06-04-2006 11:53 PM

I've been studying electrical and magnetic fields for over 4 months and have exam tomorrow
and there's no way a brain could generate them in big quantity (even at small it's not possible)
