Does it not come out on nextgen consoles?
I thought it did. |
There's supposed to be an Xbox 360 version in development but that's just a rumour so far.
Also there's going to be a version on one of the handheld consoles. As you can see here in a job listing... http://www.gamedev.net/directory/car....asp?jobid=996 |
i cant wait is there a demo out its out this february
.......Why did you just bump an almost year old thread?
I'm hoping for a 360 version so I can have all its glory, not a half assed handheld attempt. |
There's a fresher thread here, but even that's old.
Spore won't be out until after summer at the earliest. |
Spore is awesome...and its supposedly memory-light.
The impression I got was that it was hard-drive and bandwidth light. Considering the amount of processing that would be needed to drive these characters, not to mention the size of the world, I doubt it would be memory light.
The supercompression rate rocks! Mostly the specs should be modest, though memory may well be heavy, and a good processor will improve things. As for the graphics... whichever card you can afford, though don't expect to form giant herds of great, shaggy, hairy creatures without a good one. That much hair on that many limbs...
There have been no pictures of Hairy creatures yet :p
Now I'm not calling it ugly by any standards, but it doesn't look as high end as other PC games, like B&W2. Maybe because they want it available to more PC players. But it could be done on the 360.....
Uh...dude. Its one of the better-looking games around. And it ain't finished. :p
Its more fun that pretty, which is good. |
Um, look at B&W2 even on my friends comp on the lower spec levels it looks better. Then again, we haven't much seen alot of this game. But you're right it does ook better than some games
Try this video. It's anything but low-end graphics.
Ooh, cute guy with impressive hair talking about health-care reform.
Nice. |
Does it not work? It doesn't load for me anymore, but it used to be an excellent quality video depicting the latest Spore iteration, with Will Wright visiting and testing it for the Wall Street Journal.
Well, I cant look at videos yet. I gots the dial up. :(
All I have been able to see is TV videos and screens. Besdies the scope of the game and the models and movement, it doesn't look all that impressive from what I've sen. |
Truth be said, the graphics aren't impressive, but they aren't bad either. Anyway - I can barely wait to populate my worlds with Oddworld creatures!
Games don't have to be beautiful to be good Daxter.
But this one has outstanding graphics! I wish that video would work. You've never seen anything like it.
I'm not saying it wont be good or that the graphics are bad. I'm just saying that other games look better. Jeese.
Well, the only way I'll be able to play is if it is ported to consoles. :( |
The release date was finally announced today: September 7th.
This is the announcement video. I haven't watched it yet because this computer is handicapable but I will post it and hope EA haven't put in any subliminal pornography. http://fun.ea.com/cgi-bin24/DM/y/miei0IUXmY0EVQ0BlNw0FE EDIT: don't bother with the video. Read my post below for explanation. |
For some reason, I can't see the video, but no matter. Great news, I've been looking forward to it since... How long has it been now? More than two years since the game has been announced?
Just got the newsletter, and my otherwise quiet forum is lighting up like a light bulb.
It couldn't be at a worse time for me. |
This is official: don't bother with the video. It's really just an announcement of the date. Nothing even about the game itself.
The new stuff is here.
Great interview. Thanks.
And can you please stop being so helpful? It's not healthy for one man to have so much rep. |
bah!
I'll be 16 when it comes out :( |
