:

since they were translated by "shit" and "what a shit" I think they originally meant "Bullshit" and "some more Bullshit", the slig would be swearing the whole time.

Then you could say, "Excuse my French"

Xavier 03-27-2006 01:48 AM

what do you mean?

Wil 03-27-2006 04:28 AM

I think biggy bro wants you to apologise for swearing.

Or for speaking French. It's tough to figure out which.

I just loved all the slig sounds in the first two games.
I was disappointed to notice that the "bs" and "s'mo bs" weren't part of the slig language in MO.

The old MO videos depicting the gameplay before the final product included those sounds, as well as a possessed slig saying the classic "HI" to a scrub and the scrub replying "Hey Abe!"

THE UNOFFICIAL ANSWER!

They're just noises, however what s'mo and BS stand for are bullshit, and some more bullshit. The producers probaly couldn't think of a name for the random noises and just labeled it bs and s'mo bs, without making it too obvious.

And no that's not what the sligs are saying in the game. i mean after abe dies why would they be saying "bullshit bullshit! some more bullshit!"

And i doubt they're curse noises anyway. Why would they be swearing after killing abe? They're just noises sligs use to express their emotions.

If you swear infront of a kid, normally you say, "Excuse my French".
But you obviously haven't heard that joke.

“Fuck yeah! Kiss my expletive!”

They could be celebrating chants.

The first bit can be answered by- they may be meaning that as they've killed Abe, a dead mudokon is just another load of bullshit, so hence 'some more bullshit' meaning another dead mudokon.

and if not it could be that they swear to express emotion, celebrating that they killed Abe.

Sekto Springs 03-29-2006 12:31 PM

Man, you guys are thinking too hard.

They aren't swearing, if they are, it most likely has nothing to do with the words 'bullshit' or 'some more bullshit'.

If Alf weren't putzing around in the Bahamas, he'd straighten yous guys out!

Bullet Magnet 04-03-2006 10:01 AM

S'mo Bs and Bs... Clearly swearing. Think about everywhere you here it. When you die, when glukkons order them around, as passwords(followed by laughing) as they beat the scrubs. It seems to work everywhere. I've even starting imitating it in real life when people BS me.

pongyboy 04-03-2006 10:02 AM

True, I never thought of it like that........

magic9mushroom 04-05-2006 07:22 PM

Why would swear words be used to activate voice locks, may I ask???

Bullet Magnet 04-06-2006 02:29 AM

That's the kind of guys sligs are. They get bossed around alday, and beat the scrubs to break the dull routine. They get put in charge of area locks, so they're gonna use such words, it's funny to them. They laugh to end the passwotd. They are rebelling against the Glukkons in their own pathetic way!

They aren't the only ones. Remember Scuz and Packrat Palooka from SW? Their password was swearing.

Proabably because they wanted to have a some form of a repeat puzzle, and bs and smo bs sounded best for it.

But of you want to go in depth with it, then probably because that's just Slig culture.

Sekto Springs 04-07-2006 08:21 AM

I still don't think those sounds mean anything significant.

But just to entertain the thought that they do, what do you think the 'A-Bluueh!" sound means? Originally, I figured it was a type of greeting because it sounds a bit like the exaggerated "WusszaAAp!". Then I just decided it was meaningless like the others because it does not fit in such context.

ch-05 04-10-2006 04:42 AM

why has this thread been brought up again...

Primus inter pares 04-17-2006 04:57 AM

For me the BS sound (krkr) sounds like the slig is cough slightly and the SMOBS sound (bling) sounds like the same sound there are in many cartoons when someone have got an idea and mybe sligs always have some stupid ideas in their mind and the third sound (bleah) sounds like they are rigth to trow something up.

Glukinator 04-17-2006 05:47 AM

I always thought that when Sligs say BS, it kinda looks like they are flipping Abe off.
