It's wise to say that the movie is going to be based on Abe. He's the first quintology hero, and he has a depthy more epic story than Stranger.

Does anyone remember this image being right next to a Stranger art peice which appeared in an art book, someone suggested it could of been from SW. It was a while ago.

I would prefer a movie version of Abe's Oddysee + Exoddus.
I don't read much OW news (that's about to change), but didn't both Squeek and Fangus get canceled altogether? Why would they be made the stars of their own movie before the already established heroes?
To me, it makes sense to movify AO/AE, MO (maybe ...), and SW before starting up movies for new characters. Even if OWI only makes one Oddworld Movie before introducing characters... meh. Just me.

Yeah, that was in Spectrum and on a different page to the Stranger's Wrath piece. Just a piece of work he submitted that got accepted - I don't think it has any connection to Stranger's Wrath.

I really think, and hope, it will be the original Soulstorm/Abe story.

I just want the first film to be either Abe (Oddysee+Exoddus)
Or then a non quintology hero, I doubt it will be stranger since it sold so bad.

That's not a creature, that's the Song Engine which is described in The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants. It's a musical instrument that harnesses nature to welcome friends and ward off enemies.

Yea me too! I'm realy excited to see what they can pull off when they pull out the big guns and get the high tech equipment from the basement :P. Tho... only downside is that we are all getting fussed up about something that won't be here for at least another year :(.

First off we all just need to relax and wait and see what happens in the comming year. I think we are so worked up in Oddworld as in the current that we can't keep an open mind on what OWI is really doing thus we get into the debate on whats what here and start putting other people down ya know?

This is awesome news Xav and long time no see and yes I am back a changed person. I am so excited about this news that this is one of the best gifts this Christmas. I am so releaved to finally know that production on Oddworld still exist and isn't gone. Wether it is Abe, Munch or Stranger etc, an Oddworld movie means fun and exciting and it also means spectacular visuals. Personally I want to see the Oddworld movies begin with Squeek seemingly that he was always ment to be the actual first quintology hero or most important character in the Oddworld quintology. Wasn't there a small article about that awhile back Xav?

You bring up a very good point there PA. Squeek was meant to be the first one wasn't he? So it would be quite interesting on how he would come about in a movie.

actually he was allways meant to be the 3rd one..
the thing is: he was introducted to sherry by lorne as first representative of oddworld.
So squeek is the first quintology hero sherry knew about.

This is beautiful finally some news I was afraid Oddworld was going to die.
I don't care what the oddworld movie is about I just hope it gets lots of new fans into the Oddworld Universe so Lorne can make new games.

I really hope it's one of Abe's stories. I personally think it would be a bad business move to jump right into Munch's Oddysee when that game didn't do so hot when they released it, and it's too early to start a Stranger's Wrath film. Abe's stories would be the right idea.

Keep in mind that I'll still root for 'em, reguardless of what game the movie's based on. Way to go, Lorne! You've hit the big time! Cheers, dude.

Butall of us would just LOVE to see Oddworld go on the big screen. Hell, they planned to make an Abe's Oddysee movie waaaay in the past. ('99 I believe?) But nothing, not even production, has been made. We're all dyin' to see some Oddworld in the movies, ey?

Yeah. Let's just hope that it doesn't turn out to be a big fiasco.
I would hate to see the Oddworld Movie pull a Super Mario Brothers and flop bigtime.
But on the other hand, it doesn't matter. If the Oddworld fans like it, then who cares how it does in theaters?
But on the other if it does good in the theaters, it will end up attracting more fans to Oddworld, and then more games will sell, and everyone wins.
