I'm waiting an announcement of OWI before going next gen...
I want to be sure OWI is going to be on the next platform I'll buy.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not diving into any of the next gen ports until I know where my preferable developers are docking first.

OANST 06-08-2005 03:40 PM

I will end up buying the nintendo Revolution. As for the other two, I really can' say yet. And all of you Nintendo haters leave me alone. I grew up on Mario, Zelda and Metroid and I will continue to play all of them. PAPER MARIO RULES!

Oddish 06-09-2005 11:05 AM

I think the choice on what next-gen platorm they'll be working is Nintendo Revolution. It says that it will give more creativity and innovation on this console as well as not costing that much to make the actual games, which it good for OWI.

Eh? I'm not so sure about that...for some reason. :S But at the same time, knowing OWI, anything can happen, so I wouldn't count it out completely yet. ;) (Even though I'm betting against it, I COULD be wrong, so I'm not totally ruling it out-I mean, we never dreamed we'd see Oddworld on the X-box in 2000-2001, did we?) Besides, I wouldn't mind that, anyway-I play my Gamecube for Zelda and Metroid. Oddworld on a Nintendo console would be kind of neat, in my opinion.

Nate 06-09-2005 06:35 PM

Meh. Is this threat really needed any more? There aint gonna be any more "What happened to Fangus" discussion and "WTF I hate Fangus he's gay" is getting really old. And there is a next-gen console thread in OT if you really must discuss hypotheticals about vague descriptions of unfinished consoles and games.

*closes*

Xavier 06-11-2005 11:01 AM

I do agree with oddish... the revolution seems to be the most innovative orientated console coming.

but only time shall tell

I think they actually want to make money on their next game...

Oddish 06-11-2005 01:12 PM

And I think they actually don't want to spend alot of money for making a game. And we haven't seen the Revolution yet, so we still don't know if it's the most powerful machine. So we just have to wait and see.

I think I heard that PS3 will be the most hardest to develope games on, not sure though.

Xavier 06-11-2005 11:27 PM

The Revolution will have a more "fammily approach" then the other ones that are more like "media centers", and Lorne said back in the old days his goal was to be heard by the most people possible.

Nintendo are also the last ones to try new things and don't have a shitload of all the same FPS'

Dipstikk 06-12-2005 10:21 AM

Hey, um... guys?

Why are we talking about consoles in a thread not about consoles? Isn't that for OFF-TOPIC DISCISSION?

I understand that nobody wants to talk about Fangus, but still.

Oddish 06-12-2005 10:38 AM

It's still on topic. Thinking what console oddworld inhabitants might want to develope games has a relation to oddworld, and mabey if they make a new game it could about Fangus.

So it'snt very off-topic, it still has a relation on Oddworld General Discussion. I don't know if it's just me, but I think it's been more too strict on this forums than a year ago.

drakan90 06-13-2005 01:06 PM

I dont think its Off topic...
The conversation started off under the topic specified, but then like natural conversation moved on to something else related.
I agree with Oddish when he says
"I think it's been more too strict on this forums than a year ago."
Although...looking at it again...it dosnt make much sense...but we get it.

Xavier 06-14-2005 09:21 AM

the forum has to be strick when there is much activity...
when it's calm there is less need to moderating :p

Oddish 06-14-2005 09:42 AM

I think it's more quiet now since there no updates on oddworld, some people might think they've quit completely. So for now lets not leave this place dead, but more alive. And more freedom. Now we don't even know what's Oddworld's next project, were left in the dark.

Well then, it's time to say... 2000 posts!

Leto 06-15-2005 12:59 AM

One more post, Oddish, and you'll have the amount of this YEAR! OM-TEH-G!11!

I don't want the Revoloution. I want a SuperNes1.5, all in sterioscopic. The only next-gen thing I'll purchase will be whatever can run TES:IV, and then, I'll be spent for gaming all my lifetime. Mabye perhaps, when a new Oddowlrd arises, but otherwise, my will to game is just dying. Guess it's called "OMG I MATCHURE PRESUN".

And Fangus, is dead. No discussion needed. It started and ended with the 'Fangus anouncement' thread, totalling 5 pages. Saelavi (sp?(Well, I'm not French, am I? I mean, the word 'Gronwe' is spelled 'Gronoille')).

Xavier 06-15-2005 09:32 AM

c'est la vie...

anyway I have little hope of seeing Fangus back
It died before even being officially announces.

maybe one day we will see a cameo of him, honestly I don't expect much more

YaySteef 06-16-2005 04:56 PM

The idea of Fangus has its pros and cons. When I first saw his picture, I thought for sure it was a character design, brain storming piece for Stranger. They look to much alike, but that's besides the point I'm about to make.

Anyway, I don't think any of us have the right to judge Fangus and the game/story behind him because we know so very little about it.

-That's all I have to say :P

The Marching Mudokon 06-17-2005 02:57 AM

I had mixed feelings about Fangus: Yay! A new Oddworld game but like others have said before, he looks too Stranger-ish. Anyway, In OAXM they said OWI wasn't going to make it (too soon, anyway). OAXM also had a little tribute to Oddworld because of their moving to movies and television. At least Oddworld had a little column about how they make good games and that they'll be missed.

Xavier 06-17-2005 03:53 AM

Sorry but what is OAXM? Official Australian Xbox Magazine?

I'm surprised we didn't hear anything from oddworld
nothing at all about their current project

Yes, it's very frustrating. I want to know just what those guys are up to! There's talk of an Oddworld movie... wouldn't that be awesome!

Xavier 06-17-2005 10:27 AM

the last rumor is an Abe movie... but no confirmation yet

YaySteef 06-17-2005 10:33 AM

But it IS confirmed that they are making a movie:

"But all speculation is moot now, as the game's developer, Oddworld Inhabitants, turned its back on game development to set a new course for movie making." Thanks to Gamespy.

Xavier 06-17-2005 10:46 AM

sorry but can you give a link to the exact page from where you took that quote?

YaySteef 06-17-2005 11:47 AM

I took that quote from here: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/oddworld-fangus/

Yep. And the best damn Xbox magazine ever. Even though it's the same as OXM UK... Just without all the phone-sex ads. XD

YaySteef, just because they've been said to move into the movie industry, it isn't conformation that they ARE currently making a movie.

The Marching Mudokon 06-17-2005 06:06 PM

All that was said in my Xbox magazine was that they were moving into the movie and television industry, nothing about making and AO movie.

Yes, but it is highly likely, wouldn't you say?

The Marching Mudokon 06-17-2005 10:05 PM

Well they have moved into the movie industry so it's just the matter of waiting to hear some news because the only thing we know for sure, is that they've changed industry (for now).
