Excuse my ignorance, but where was that in Munch's Oddysee? I don't remember seeing anything like that, but I have only gone through the game once so far.

on the labor eggs boxes... ;)

Xavier 03-01-2005 08:24 AM

like I said S-M... on the labor eggs boxes...

There was also a statue of Sam in a photo taken at OWI and some concept art. Xavier probably has both.

The Oddworld art book explains the whole Queen mother concept. The Mudokon Queen Sam and the Glukkon Queen Margaret were going to be featured prominently in the story of Munch's Oddysee, but were unfortunately cut from the game due to Microsoft's time restraints. So, it is correct that there are no females actually in the Abe and Munch's Oddysee games; the characters were planned but cut, although they will no doubt appear in Abe and Munch's future adventures.

Everyone has probably played Stranger's Wrath since this thread's question was first asked, so I won't bother going into the numerous females in that game.

I never saw her on the egg boxes. I did see a sign with a picture of her in the bad ending. Perhaps you could post an image of an egg box with her picture on it?

Xavier 03-03-2005 11:27 AM

well this is the logo on the boxes...
http://www.oddworlduniverse.com/togg...O/CAMO0113.jpg
at the left top you can find Sam's face

Sheriff-Murder 03-04-2005 01:27 AM

The picture on the boxses looks more like a vykker...

Nate 03-06-2005 04:22 PM

Surely that's not the logo on the actual boxes, that's just the sign I was referring to in the bad ending FMV.

The boxes actually look like

(thanks to depthsofoddworld for the image)

But I'm not sure if they even have that image in-game. I'll have to crank out the old Munchie and check it out.

Xavier 03-09-2005 02:13 AM

hmmmm, you are right... I'll try to find out if there isn't the full logo somewhere in tha game anyway.

Wil 03-11-2005 11:10 AM

It's in the final room where Abe and Munch either get attacked by Fuzzles (in the FMV and the realtime room) or go on to Labour Egg Storage.

Glukkons
Sligs
Mudokons
-All exist in a castle system. One queen, a few drones, the rest workers. The Glukkons, Sligs and Muds we've seen so far have all been worker class.

Actually, that reminds me of a theory I had, in which the Magog Cartel had three distinct levels of society. The queen is at the top, and right under her, are the Glukkons capable of helping her produce more children. Apart from breeding, they fill high ranking staff positions such as advisors and such. What do you guys think? Of course, under this is the sex-less working class, which is all we've seen so far.

BTW: Art of Oddworld has some nice drawings of Lady Margret.

Then if Brewmaster wasn't a female....Ahh whatever..

Speaking of the Brewmaster...was he French, or is that just me?

Xavier 03-12-2005 01:20 AM

he had some funny french accent...
(even I don't have such an accent :p)

Nate 03-14-2005 04:33 PM

I read an interview with Lorne pre-Munch where he mentioned that some of the characters in AE were voiced by their animators. Brewmaster, and the Glukkon exec in the stockmarket FMV, were voiced by - *finds credits* - Senior Animator Scott Easley, whom I beleive is a Frenchman.

I certainly remember an old Inhabitant Interview where an animator talked about being mentored by a crazy frenchman. I just put 2 + 2 together.

Xavier 03-15-2005 08:03 AM

the only fenchman that worked over there was Christophe Chaverou...

Nate 03-16-2005 03:48 PM

Okay, I'm getting Scott mixed up with Christophe. I did think that Scott wasn't a french enough sounding name when I cutandpasted it in.

I don't know where that leads my theory that Brewmaster was voiced by a real frenchman. Without any legs, I guess... :fuzsad:
