The way I see it, unless OI has kept a new game completly under wraps, the next one will be for next gen consoles (I mean, they'll probably be out within a year). That's my stance on that.

As for upcoming OW games, I dunno. There have been TONS of ideas tossed around including:

-Hand of Odd
-Munch's Exodus
-SW II
-Squeek's Oddysey
-It was even mentioned that a screenplay is completed and is being passed on to film producers.... ODDWORLD MOVIE YES!

These are all things I would love to see, but I think OW should stick to what they want. I have complete faith in whatever they choose. However, if it is Squeek's Oddysey, I'm wondering how they can make the characters as likeable as Munch and Abe. I'm apprehensive....

I realy hope we will see a new Stanger Game in less then 2 years, that's what Lorne was planning according to the interview that was made by Alf.

I really don't think the next game will be for the Xbox Next. Lorne has said publicly how much he hated working for an unreleased console. Plus, he's really proud of the Stranger engine. It may not be all that he wants for a quintology game - which is another reason why I think that the next game will be a Stranger sequel - but it is pretty damn good nonetheless.

I could have sworn that Citizen Siege was set on Earth, not Oddworld.

That fact makes me a little wary... but it's Oddworld Inhabitants, and they have yet to dissappoint me.

Wow, 2 years? That'd be awesome. :D So would a Stranger sequel, maybe the paths of him and the Quintology members could cross, who knows?

As for next-gen, aren't they (or at least Xbox Next) supposed to be out in the next year or so? I think that would be sort of a bad marketing decision to release a game a year after the arrival of a new system. Not that I'm complaining, I'll still buy it, but I'm worried for the sake of the game's sales.

Well that just seems REALLY fast, I mean it would be really ambitious on the part of OWI to have a game out (on the existing Xbox console) before the Xbox Next releases. I mean we don't have a date but we can assume it will be within the next 2 years.

Although if the next game they release is a Stranger game, seeing as how they have the engine to work with - just sitting there waiting...I suppose it IS possible. I just look at how long it took from MO to SW and wonder though.

If they are doing Stranger 2 for Xbox 1, we need not worry about the time bwteen MO and Wrath.
They had to come up with full concepts, models, an entire engine, AI, live ammo.. well.. every species and character. These are all already in place for a sequel.

They WANT to make the game. They've had what they needed to start making it since OSW went gold--we've actually seen images they released that didn't make it into stranger: meaning those are ideas that they haven't gotten to use yet. All I'm saying is that they're in a situation very similair to where they were after AO. After beating Stranger I really want them to make the sequel, too. Come on, OWI!

That would be so awesome. Although I hope they make it a bounty game again. Even though I loved the ending and the steef parts, I liked the bounty missions a little bit more.

That would be really amazing. :) It makes sense, actually, they just have to make a few additions and make a new story and FMVs, which granted can take time. However, it could be possible. Prince of Persia did it (albeit crappily).

Oh, and I wasn't into Oddworld around the time of AO and AE. Did they have a close release date?

I would love it if they could get another stranger game out before Xbox is dead, but it seems unlikely. They would need to create new textures, models, levels, sounds, music, FMV's, code, etc. Even with the current engine I doubt they could get all these working in such a limited amount of time.

It might be tough, but I think OI could do it. As I said Prince of Persia did, and although that game was worse than the first, it was also much different, and had a lot of new thing added including many FMVs, textures, music, sound, animations, and story.

Although this game wasn't as good as the first, it still shows how much can be done in a year.

I really liked Stranger's Wrath but I'm also really anxious for the quintology to continue. I think if Oddworld could make a OSW sequel quickly they should but if it will take another 3 years I think they should go back to the quintology. Lorne Lanning said the technology wasn't good enough for the quintology but with Xbox 2 so close it could be the right timing for the third installment of the quintology.

I think Lorne wouldn't make a Quintology game as first game on the Xbox 2
rather a Stranger game, so he can edit the storyline and experiment without breaking his heart like he did with MO

Lorne's actually said he doesn't want to do Quintology games on brand new engines, so its almost certain that he wouldn't continue it first thing on xbox 2.

I am anxious for the quintology to continue, as I'd like to spend a little more time with Munch (done right), I just think that Stranger is the hero of the hour, and I'm interested in what happens next for him as well.

Well most of the models, sounds and code (eg engine and AI) would be the same or similar. They'd probably add a few new characters but they would probably be ones that were originally in SW but cut out so there would be some resources already produced.

A couple years back when watching X-factor, I was dissapointed that OWI was going with a western shooter, but look how great it turned out! I totally trust OWI with whatever descision they make for the next game.
