Sound's cool, keep it up :)

Level in progress, with a scrabania esque feel. Now- I know, the orange roof thingie isn't tiled at all. Its a level in progress. I shall not release screens of the demo yet, just some of the other levels (thats why there has been a lack of screens, sorry peeps.)

This shall be a starting location for a Gabbit in the full game. Any assistance would be helpful, if not, well, fine :p I can have the award of making another game entirely by myself.

(Note: these tiles are not made by me, and are temporary. They are from the official Toolkit site, I may still use them, but I'd like to make my own.)

Any more updates SM?

Oddish 02-21-2005 12:35 PM

Super Munch, do you need any help with the enviromets or logo, or menus?, But I don't much about makeing these sorta games.

BTW, great envroment!

Gretin 02-21-2005 04:54 PM

What sort of thing do you want help with? I can possibly help, but it depends on the answer to that question.

Leto 02-21-2005 10:16 PM

Huzah! My crate of midget workers- I mean, Oompa Loompa- I mean, co-workers, yes. Perhaps this shall speed up the process.

First off, Thanks Oddish. Are you familiar with Photoshop, any version? If so, it would be particularly helpful if you could work on very small imagery (As in, wall textures, objects, etc, etc), most probably at a 30-50x30-50 pixel basis. Or something close to that. I shall post requests upon your answer, perhaps, or the matter shall be discussed.

Same to you, Gretin. With you being familiar with The Games Factory imagery editor, your help would be most appreciated. Though, if you do not have Photoshop, or some sort of equivilant which isn't Paint, this may be some sort of problem.

This is a matter to be discussed... Thanks for you help. If the help is supplied :p

(On a seperate matter, I was bored out of my brains at school today, so I tried to draw Mudokon tribal signs on 30x30 grid paper. Aint that sad? Atempting textures without a computer? XD)

Gretin 02-21-2005 10:54 PM

I have the GIMP 2.0, which is way better than Paint (gee, that's hard :p), but I doubt that it's as good as Photoshop, as it's free software. It should be good enough, though.

Heh, I've written down C++ code without a computer, but I've never gone that far! ;)

Yeah, I do have the latest photoshop, not very great at it. Do mean the image size to be that big?

Leto 02-22-2005 06:27 PM

Yeth, yes I do. The textures used, as you may have noticed in the screen-shot, are relatively small. Here is one, enlarged quite alot.

As you can see, this is very pixel-y. I have enlarged it quite alot. I cannot be bothered counting how many pixels are in this image, but this is roughly the size of tiles you will work with. The tiles in the game are 32x32 pixels (in size).

Ifit has a zoom function, should be fine indeedy. As in, you can edit pixel by pixel.

Wow that looks great. Nice going SM

Leto 02-28-2005 09:59 PM

Thanks. But I'm having a real big annoyance with the game so far...

It seems the game is shit. Yahuh. It is a game made without planning, a chaos created. I say it is back to the drawing board. Perhaps, whence the games completion, I shall release the game so far as a 'blooper reel'.

So, if anyone is interested in making the game, feel free to post here, for it is time for a complete plan of the game. It is like shooting a movie while still writing the script.

Help would be appreciated. Post here or PM me if you are interested, and we shall go back to the drawing board... From story to game features, everything is being changed.

Thanks :)

Gretin 02-28-2005 11:28 PM

I know the feeling, I've done the same thing myself on more than one occasion. It's like: "Wow, that's good idea, I think I'll make it!" Then, I'll start making it and find that I have no idea what I should be doing next. Planning helps. Period.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, I might be able to contribute some ideas, but could you be a bit more specific about what you want to achieve with this game? I.E. Is it a story driven RPG (like Diablo), or one where you get to do what you like (like Ultima Online)?

Leto 02-28-2005 11:33 PM

I would wish for it to be less story driven, and more explorative. Perhaps a loose story, ending up to one goal, say (Example, gawd damn nabbit!) save the world. Of course, nothing that stupid. But I wish to accomplish some sort of explorative loaction of Mudos. The 'do what you like option'.

I must leave for tonight, try to cure this friggin' insomnia... Anyways, if you wish to help, just say :)
