:

Those Octogis with Sekto look like natural creatures that are just wearing armour to me. More so with their face trills than anything.

I was more thinking that the hinges/joints on their legs make them look like robots.

Abeguy 01-13-2005 01:17 PM

:

Actually, I read somewhere that the Octigi is just a small, octopus-like creature that uses another being's body as a host. Some sort of parasitic/symbiotic thing, maybe.
That would be interesting to see
are you trying to say that his his is octgi his tenticles are like posessing another being?
Ex. His head is himself and his body is some tortured creature

that'd be cool

Dipstikk 01-13-2005 03:49 PM

Yep, that's what I'm saying.
I have it played out in my head. Stranger has defeted Sekto, who falls limply to the floor. His head pulses up and down until the actual Octigi wiggles and writes free. It flops to the ground and tumbles over onto its tenticles like a water balloon (assuming the Octigi is a squishy/boneless critter), and begins to skitter away from Stranger and the host body on its tiny tenticles. Stranger growls under his breath, walks to the quite slow Octigi and squashes it like a bug! (View of his head) He twists his foot on the dead Octigi, smiles, and walks (presumably) to the exit of the dam.

MAN, I should write my own scripts!

Edit: Oh, wait. Problem.
Stranger needs to return Sekto alive to claim what will probably be one mother of a bounty.
But you have to admit, I'm good with writing and...stuff. :D

Nate 01-13-2005 07:03 PM

I'd say that if you kill the host, then the Octigi will attack to take control of you.

Wil 01-16-2005 03:07 AM

Those Gloktigis are teensy. Regular ones would be twice the height of Sekto. I'm leaning towards the mechanical argument.

Nepharski 01-16-2005 09:59 AM

I think Mr. Sekto will beat Molluck any day of the week. I mean, Molluck was scrary and stuff, but he had no real...personality (Whereas the Gluks in Exoddus did).

He's also a hunter? Cool. It seems to me that Oddworld needs more villians who actually do other things than stand in their offices, getting infuriated at their inept henchmen.

I like all these theories of him being a parasite. I've always wanted a video game villian whose main goal was to cheat death (As opposed to domination, wealth, etc.). If so, then (potentially) his current host is dying, and he needs a new one. Thus, he needs Stranger killed, so he can continue his own selfish immortality.

Awesomeness! He looks like he might unseat Aslik as my favorite Oddworld villian.

Cheers!

Oddish 01-16-2005 01:22 PM

Molluck might be more inteligent than Sekto.

This is a guy who never enunciated his speech, never spoke in complete sentences, and never raised the volume in his speech above a painfully indistinct mumble. Moll might be more intelligent than Sekto (or maybe not), but one thing's for sure: anyone in the series can speak better than him.
Not to mention his Execs. I could pick out maybe one... maybe two sentences (I'm being nice) that I could understand.
Sekto had BETTER have something to say, or at least say it in a way we can understand, because I want to win this bet because I NEED THE MONEY dammit.

Shell Man 01-16-2005 10:46 PM

Did anyone happen to notice that the guy in the last two pictures isn't Sekto? The eyes are red, the head is shaped differently with no spines, and the suit and skin color are different.

I don't how he's going to speak with his that scarf on his face, he's probably mumble :p

Earlier in this thread it was discusses the greatness of the villainry between Mr. Sekto and Molluck. I think that the villains in all the games were really good in their own seperate ways. In AE I loved Director Phleg the most, just because he was always freaking out about what was going to happen. And in MO, I like Lulu because he didn't even question his sudden turn around in luck, he just assumed he was some great Glukkon which left him wide open for his downfall. I think that Mr. Sekto will be as interesting and diverse as all the different Glukkons whose rise to power and sudden downfall we've witnessed in the past. One of the reasons I love Oddworld is because of the strong diversification of personalities you see in such a flash of dialogue and action.

You're right! For those who don't know, it's the two gameplay images on page 1. Yeah, I dunno, man. I didn't knotice that.
It might be a different Octigi, but mo' likely it's the same old Sekto with a mistake made in the in-game rendered model.

Lulu was more of a Semi good guy than a villain, he was lazy and easy to become a puppet. than again thats kinda like all glukkons

OANST 01-22-2005 08:37 AM

I don't think that you could call glukkons lazy. As Dripik says "I work hard. I work hard!"

evil1 01-22-2005 08:50 AM

He lied hard, he lied hard. lol not really
ok maby not all glukkons are lazy but they are constantly trying to amass large amounts of self created items and it seems moolah is just to make them happy even though their moolah is basicly useless
and at that point they have overworked and are forced to become lazy since they have worked way to much
gotcha there

Esus 01-22-2005 09:03 AM

Lulu was certainly lazy. One of the concepts was that he rose in status whilst sleeping on the job, hence the CG video with his clothes changing while he slept.

Cyber-Slig 01-22-2005 09:10 AM

The two guards are cyborgs by the look of it. Look at the feet and back. Robot feet and pipes at the back. Whereas everywhere else is skin. Possibly the parasitic gloktigi could infest machines also?

Oddish 01-22-2005 12:28 PM

Mr Sekto voice is done by Lorne Lanning. I wounder how it's going to sound like.

Volsung 01-22-2005 02:44 PM

The Gloktigi and Mr. Sekto are different species. So I don't know if the Gloktigi are parasites as well. But there is a really good picture of them (Sans tech) in the official guide to the game.

Who knows. For some strange reason, I visualize something similar to Muldoon (Jurassic Park).

You have the Prima guide?

:

As Dripik says "I work hard. I work hard!"

That wasn't Dripik, that was Dr Chester Payne.

Volsung 01-23-2005 07:11 AM

The Prima guide was in the EB games I frequent when I checked by yesterday. I just flipped through at the time, partially because I didn't have any money, and partially because I don't like to read the guides before I play through once. But its available for anyone who doesn't mind that. Well, maybe anyone who doesn't mind that in the U.S.

evil1 01-23-2005 08:00 AM

lol why dont we rub it in for the people not in the U.S

na na na na na naaa na na na na na naaa

dude i was right the generel IS lazy

na na na na na naaa

Xavier 01-23-2005 08:07 AM

I preordered the guides weeks ago, but it still has to come from The US to my home

The Marching Mudokon 01-23-2005 03:20 PM

I hope it comes in soon. I guess i'll just have to keep checking in.

tsioc 01-30-2005 04:22 AM

this man is evil!!! well, THING is EVIL. just wait till you see the ending.

Al the Glukkon 01-30-2005 01:04 PM

He kind of sounds like the Raisin.

Shadestorm 02-04-2005 11:00 PM

Wow, it's amazing how you guys predicted the ending of OSW even four years before it came out! It's sad that OI can't surprise us very well...

Al the Glukkon 02-05-2005 07:30 AM

Four years? Seems like a couple months to me.
