Smilies have been added again ... so no more big red crosses [or missing images] all over the page.

Yay, Good work Abe Babe

I found the reply/new topic buttons for the Honeybee Layout today. I had to go and pick up my files from where I used to work ... and they were actually in there! So I've added those back in place. I think that now means everything that was missing has been put back.

Wow....feels like ages. Pushes away cobwebs and dust. A lot has happened since this site was last up, and I couldnt find my information to login on the EZboard version of the forums. Anyways great to see everyone and its great to be back. =)

That is one of the (many) bad things about EzBoard. You can be easily locked out if you forget your name or email address. I'm glad to see that you've returned!

Were you notified of our return via email, or on the EzBoard?

I've noticed that the age display of the forums members are gone.

I've noticed that the age display of the forums members are gone.

The age display function uses a hefty amount of CPU processing to correctly determine ages. On the member profile page, where only one age is displayed (that being of that member), it is fine. But when you're using a very intensive function thirty or more times at once, it has a significant impact.

I do like to know people's ages, but I'm not sure we should put any more stress on a shared server than what there already is :)

I happened to remember about a week or two ago saying that the forum server was almost ready to go back up. But I didnt receive an email notification from either EZboard or here no matter I was very happy to see the site back up when I visited a couple days ago!

Didn't want to start a new thread about this. I'm still getting a red X instead of the male symbol next to my name in posts.

You've had that problem for as long as I can remember. Yes, it's really iritating, fix Nate's symbol.

Is that only with you, though? Or is everyone else experiencing the same thing?

What style are you using? It could be related to that.

Wil 01-21-2005 02:38 AM

Just for the record, I've not had that problem at all, so I imagine it's just NDW.

Rich 01-21-2005 11:51 AM

I've only seen this happen to NDW. All of his posts are like it.

What a trivial 800th post.

AquaticAmbi 01-21-2005 10:35 PM

I can't see Nate's symbol either.

Gretin 01-22-2005 12:20 AM

Um... am I missing something? Is there supposed to be something by NDW's name? I can't even see the aforementioned red cross.

Rich 01-22-2005 01:19 AM

See the attachment. I have a male symbol, whereas NDW has a red cross.

Gretin 01-22-2005 01:45 AM

Ah, ok, it was because I had the forum skin set to "Munch's Oddysee", not "Industrial."
Maybe he needs to adjust his profile, all it says in there (that I can see) is his birthday and location, whereas everyone that I can see the symbol by their name has their gender specified in their profile. Just an idea I had...

Rich 01-22-2005 01:48 AM

What appears by his name in the "Munch's oddysee theme"?

Gretin 01-22-2005 11:52 AM

Nothing, but it also doesn't show the titles, like how mine is glukkon pud and yours is mudokon big kahonee and NDW's is vykker sawbones. See, here's a pic of part of this thread in MO theme:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...tid=2739&stc=1
But I think he needs to check his profile because, like I said, his profile doesn't actually specify what gender...

Alcar 01-22-2005 05:37 PM

I think it was as easy as changing your gender in your profile to male. I've done that for you, and it appears to be working.

Alcar...

Gretin 01-22-2005 05:56 PM

That's what I thought it was... his profile didn't say what gender he is, so how could the thing know which symbol to put in? :D

EDIT: By the way, NDW isn't the only one, Jacob also has the red X, most likely for the same reason.

Nate 01-23-2005 02:23 PM

Strange, I thought I had checked that. Well thanks anyway Alcar.
