I guess so. The whole point of Meech extinction is to show us the harsh reality of what the Industrial world has done. But I just love them thar fancy Meeches! :crying:

Meeches will always and stiil is excincted, but we see meeches in furure OW games, one thats set in the past. Gahahahahaa.... .... .... possilbe in Hand of odd.

Xavier 05-07-2004 10:02 PM

yes oddish, that's what was said before...
probably hand of odd will feature some meeches, and othe games that take place before the quintology

:

Mac, for Christ sake, stop with the completely pointless posts.

But you see, it was not pointless. Its point was to show that PA's idea was not the most original and had been recycled many times, and that OWI would most likely not do that.

I win. :p

The meeches are probably lost to any sequals to Abe's Oddysee, where they were first mentioned to be extinced. They may not be forgoten, though. Probably there will be some easter egg for them.
Keep your eyes open and ears to the ground!

Bring the meeches back to life with the egg nest that was in MO.

Xavier 05-08-2004 11:02 AM

uh, where did you see that?
I never heard of that.

gabbits were the ones who, extincted, came back afterwards in MO

Havoc 05-08-2004 11:24 AM

:

there wouldn't be any point to see them later in the quintology
the point of meeches is that they are extinct, if owi makes an happy end about them, then they will miss the whole point

Eh... good point.

Touche... :fuzemb:

I 'am not good at explaining. In MO theres the Egg nest to make you alive again, if you die.
Wait a minute...

*reads manule of MO*

...ah yes it's only for Abe and Munch.

Another clue that makes me believe Meeches are under ground creatures are their mouth parts. To me they look very closely related to Graboids. With those three moveing jaws.

And to note I wasn't saying the idea of finding a world underground was original. I know its been used countless times. I am just talking about how cool it would be to explore more of the under ground of Oddworld in 3D. To me at least it was as if the under ground has a lot to offer when we explored Necrum Mines. I would like to revisit the underground of Oddworld.

DeBulletDodger 05-09-2004 12:26 PM

I would like to see as the last game from OWI providing the technology is there, a game where you can go anywhere on Oddworld. I personally would love to virtually climb those mountains.

*sigh

Well to the actual point I don’t think we will see anymore of the meeches because of the points already made but I do believe we will find out more about them actually in one of the games.

Lorne has said we will get to see the Meeches at some point, but never specified whether it would be due to a flashback or species revival. Gabbits have been brought back from the brink of extinction, so doing the same with Meeches would be rather samey, unless it brought up issues of cloning and genetic fiddling, like in the Freezer image.

We've also seen underground parts in all three Oddworld games so far, if you count Monsaic Lines as being underground. The light levels are high, but then they are called Monsaic Caves (somewhere).
